I'm honestly confused by the maple syrup. Reminds me of myself learning to cook. I used to glaze filet mignon with Sriracha, brown sugar and ground cinnamon. I swore up and down it was the greatest thing ever.... Then I discovered salt and pepper.

People told me they liked it too but looking back they were either being nice or had shit taste.

Try using a balsamic reduction next time for the sweetness you're looking for.

Thumbs up on the mustard though.

ok so for a start, the flavour of smoked maple wood infused stuff is different from that of maple sap. secondly, using the syrup as a source of sugar in addition to maple flavour is perfectly fine if balanced properly. reduced balsamic simply has a higher acid content out of the bottle, which is why you seem you think it's more appropriate for a non-breakfast dish. but you are wrong. and you know you're wrong. you just mouthed off about it and got caught sermonising and now your back's against the wall - you don't really have a strong and informed opinion on the subject. so shut the fuck up.

Oh yeah, I'm totally cornered. You're so autistic that you have to be the clown who made that disgusting mess in the first place. The flavor combination makes ZERO sense and some fuckhead pouring Aunt Jemima over chicken thighs is hardly something to defend unless you're dumb enough to do it yourself. It's a shit dish and you're an even shittier cook for trying to defend it. Bumping with muh chili. Only had half a white onion so I cut up 4 green onions in it. Turned out awesome. Black pepper, garlic, onion, paprika, cumin, thyme, cayenne, and of course a generous serving of salt. Not a big fan of tomato, so veggies are corn, onion, and green pepper. Chips are obviously from a bag, but a light butter spray and some garlic salt followed by a quick toasting makes them a little better imo

Also I ordered the stuff to make chocolate bars today. (Dutched chocolate powder, vanilla powder, almond extract and some silicone molds) anyone have some advice or good recipes for that?

Breading usually involves coating in flour (that's when you can add your spices if you like) then coating in egg, which forms a kind of paste and then another coat of bread crumbs. This seals the chook and helps prevent moisture from escaping. It's not exactly chicken science, m80.
Flour alone is just going to suck the moisture out.

I'll bite

courgettes were from a recipe book, very boring but I spiced them up after pic with chili flakes.

pasta sauce is just tomatoes, paprika. bit of flat parsley during cooking and another bit at the end.

the beer was really nice. german IPA with a lot of kick, not per se bitter but very strong hop taste. hard to explain.

I rate my own meal an 8/10.

pointer: add some kind of sauce-carrier to the tomatoes and paprika. cook with lid on to stop evporating to occur too much. either tomato sauce (decent one) or canned diced tomatoes would have helped.

music paired with beer: Nobody but You - The Back Keys
