Smoked pineapple, white meat chicken, and ham. But a good pizza is really more about the sauce and the cheese than the toppings, I like to mix a little bit of this salty goat cheese the local Mexican sells in when I make a pizza, but I guess that is an acquired taste.

Also, mix in some rye flour to your crust, and a dust your pan in corn meal after you grease it.

>Known the feel of a fucked up orders
Happens to me constantly. Whenever I go to a restaurant, I almost never make special or picky additions to my orders. My girlfriend always gets light sauce on almost anything Italian, and often her request fucks up my stuff

We also have this friend who is a huge, fat fuck, and he's super picky. He thinks it's his god-given right to customize every fucking order he makes at a restaurant. He rattles off a laundry list of changes he wants to almost every fucking dish, and then when they inevitably mess something up, he makes a scene about it. We've stopped eating out with him.

I'm not too picky about what I eat. My rule is that if I'm going to request more than one alteration to a dish, I should probably just get something else.

The hottest /ck/ meme right now is having a spastic knee-jerk reaction to anything popular or that you don't like and calling it 'meme food'.

A fruit or vegetable is in season right now? It's a meme food.

International cuisine? Meme!

Seasoning with salt and pepper? Memeing, everyone is doing it.

It doesn't matter what doneness you cook your steak, its a meme.

I think it depends on the size of your world. Bacon, kale, sriracha and avocados (for that matter) are commonplace foods for many of us. But they all enjoyed a surge in popularity over the last decade. If you live in some backwater where your first experience with avocados was at Subway, or you'd never eaten kale before until your mom decided it was a "superfood", or Sriracha just appeared in your supermarket you might consider these foods memes, because you first encountered them when they'd become trendy for a moment. Bacon goes in and out of fashion with regularity as each successive wave of backlash against the previous decade's diet craze arrives.

There are some parts of the country where banh mi, pho and real ramen have just arrived, or are about to. Someone who sees these items as trendy hipster foods might call them memes. But to someone from a major city all of these foods have been pretty common for well over a decade, and calling such old news a meme seems strange.

Your perception of this has a lot to do with where you live, and how varied the food there happens to be.

Favorite? That's a tough call. I mean, pepperoni with plenty of red chili flakes is an absolute classic, the Old Guard of pizza, if you will.

Beyond that, probably a good quattro formaggi with cracked black pepper. I like that with red or white sauce, or no sauce at all if it uses ricotta cheese as a base. The right mix of cheeses will give not just a depth of flavor but a variety of textures, from the soft ricotta to gooey, stringy mozzarella to crisped, caramelized Parmesan and Asiago. A real pleasure.

I gotta give an honorable mention to my own take on Hawaiian, which forgoes a sauce in favor of a light smear of garlic and oil and fresh tomato slices. Mozzarella, Asiago, ham, bacon, pineapple.

Sausagemeat, fennel salami and red onion.

>Cut/mould a chunk of raw sausage meat into a rectangular block an inch thick and deep and as long as you need it to top the pizza
>Roll it in a mixture of whatever herbs you want (I use herbes de Provence) and seal it in a foil pouch with some roughly chopped garlic
>Bake at 200C (390F) for 30 minutes then increase the temperature to 220C (430F) for 15 minutes
>Drain the juices (there's a lot of fat in them which you can render into lard if you want) and leave to cool in the pouch
>Slice a quarter inch thick and quarter each slice leaving whatever herbs have stuck in place
>Put the pizza together with the onions below the cheese and the sausage meat and salami on top with plenty of oregano on top of the meats
>Cook as you would any other meat pizza

Precooking the sausage in foil seems to stop you ending up with a lake of grease on your pizza but keeps the meat relatively moist. If you want a bit of heat, try adding crushed dried chipotles to the outside of the sausage meat as well as the herbs.

I'm an argie, there's no fresh mozzarella (dry only), and the crust tends to be approximately a meter thick and super fluffy unless I make it myself. I'd kill for some fresh mozzarella on my pizzas. Plus, I still live with my parents, and that means they cook to feed my ultra-picky sister first-and-foremost and she NEEDS to have the pizzas topped with sliced hot dogs and shredded hard-boiled egg. I mean it's perfectly edible and tastes pretty OK, but it's not something I enjoy.

There's usually another with something decent like chicken and spinach, but mom just has to put olives ALL FUCKING OVER them (like a whole olive with every bite), telling me to be less picky (I eat anything BUT olives, the things my sister eats I can count on both hands) if I ask her to leave one half without, and sadly the one thing I can't stand at all are olives or the flavor they leave on pizza after you remove them.

Can't choose just one:

When I worked at a local pizza place I'd make a thin-crust with heavy sauce, light cheese, pepperoni, banana pepper, pineapple, olives, maybe some other veggie. They're crust was really thick and chewy normally but thin-crust was just perfect.
Another place I worked at I made a "green" pizza. Wheat crust with pesto sauce instead of marinara, mozz cheese, green olives, green peppers, spinach, maybe some capers.

If I'm just ordering from somewhere generic I usually like all Veggie or just a Pep and cheese on thin-crust, heavy sauce.

DROPPING SOME OBJECTIVE KNOWLEDGE ON PIZZA REAL QUICK

>alfredo sauce
Fucking disgusting. Too thick and masking, just go eat a plate of pasta if you want alfredo sauce
>pepperoni
Far too greasy and isn't worth what it's going for. If you want spice get some real peppers
>plain old cheese pizza
Should always be respected. We can't have pizza with toppings if the almighty cheese wasn't here first.

I grew up on Pizza Hut, it was the only pizza place in town until I was like 10. Well that's not true, there was one local place but their pizza was worse than the Hut. Their crust was always doughy and the cheese was just flavorless and they laid it on thick.

There was a Godfather's Pizza a town over and I loved their taco pizza, but it closed down a few years ago.

My absolute favorite pizza was a sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, and onion pizza from a place in the same town as the Godfather's. Just delicious, they used a good cheese and really premium toppings. Their crust was always the perfect consistency, a little crunchy and a little chewy at the same time. The place changed hands and the pizza was never the same.

Chicken Caesar Salad Pizza.

this is 1st result on image search, it's a bad example.

croutons do NOT belong on a pizza, also I prefer the chicken cut smaller and flakes of hard Parmesan

I was thinking about making an orange chicken pizza the other day, but talked myself out of it thinking it'd be bad.

Does this actually work / taste good?

what kind of sauce / what kind of cheese?

I was thinking of doing like, an orange sauce (that is normallly on the orange chicken)

a parm-romano cheese, and small cut chicken lightly breaded with small amount of orange sauce on the chicken.

it might work out great, it might be terrible.

anyone ever tried anything like it? how'd it work out?

Orange sauce is called duck sauce.

I'm usually a hater, but I dunno that could possibly work. I wouldn't use a lot tho, because it would probably overpower it.
