So here is my small habenaro yield, not much but I'm proud of them my first food I've grown, in a apt.

So what should I do with them? I want to pickle some but I've never done that I have jars though. I could google stuff but I'm trapped in /ck/ for ever.

Those look pretty good, I'd put them into a chile, add them when it's about done. I've found over time that the orange habaneros loose their heat and flavor if cooked for a long time.

Interestingly that's not the same for chocolate habaneros. This is the time of the year to get them if you can.

Do you have sunlight and heat? If you answered yes to both then you can grow peppers. They're pretty resiliant.

Just make sure when growing indoors to not overwater them, that'll fuck them royally.

Also make sure that the pots or whatever you're growing them in have proper drainage.

looked up some recipes for pickling so I guess I'm going to wing it with what I have to work with, not going to go buy a bunch of stuff, dont have mustard seeds

I always used a few added into pasta sauce to spice it up into a spicy pasta sauce. Not for just any old spaghetti or whatever but it's good when you're wanting some spicy spaghetti sauce. I would make a huge amount and jar it up when everything was fresh and use it through out the year when the feeling hit for some spicy penne or something similar.

That's what I kind of do with chocolate habaneros, they're only available for a couple weeks and that window slides with the weather and harvest time and stuff. So I buy a shitload and put them in the freezer, they last for a year.

Yeah, they're hotter and it's a different flavor. They're still habaneros but are better I think. Try em out if you can get them, you're in TX right? You can probably grow them if you get the right seeds.

The nice thing is that the flavor and heat lasts during long cooking such as with chili or a stew or curry.

It's really hard to describe the difference, I like them better, they're not as citrusy maybe? I dunno if that's the right way to put it. Just get a few and try them out.
