I've eaten at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. It was incredible. Easily the best food I've ever eaten.

I've eaten at two of his restaurants in Vegas and one in LA. STEAK in Vegas was his most "fancy". It was good. Steak was cooked perfectly. It was also pretty fucking expensive. About $335 for just me and my gf. I think the cheapest cut of steak was like $65. Will visit again though.

Steak is expensive, but considering it doesn't really have any accolades, thats a very high price.

Yes. The restaurant was pretty much perfect. Wait staff was knowledgable, super attentive without being invasive. Great beer and cocktail selection. Environment was great. Also all the waitresses are literally models. Will go back when I visit Vegas again later this year.

>>6878186
Also yeah considering that $65 is just for the steak with no sides, sides starting at like $15. one complete dish does end up costing a lot

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay cost the equivalent of around $500 for two people at current exchange rates. Few years ago so probably gone up in price now.

If I were him I'd act that way too. Can you imagine what would happen if he treated them the same as everyone else? He'd be sued, labeled a raciss and all kids of shit. The backlash would be devastating.

Now that's what would happen if he treated them like everyone else.
Like everyone else
Everyone else
As in equal.

They've taken it way too far, to the point where if they aren't treated special its all of a sudden racist.

He has several restaurants in the London metro and, for efficiency, he owns one centrally-located prep kitchen that does some of the more time-consuming prep and delivers. Some sauces, breads, etc.

I was in RGR in NY and he was in the kitchen, but not shouting at anyone. Food was superb; this was back when it had two M stars.

He's also cooked with me in my own kitchen and it was grand.

He's honestly one of the best chefs in the world. I dined at one of his restaurants in Las Vegas. Pretty spectacular.

I love his food not only for the taste but because he is vehemently "anti-pretentious". He's not one of those chefs that will mound 5000 edible flowers and stupid garnishes and shit on his food and claim that his food is art or some shit. He's very down to earth and simple in his food, it's just amazingly good.

I have way more respect for him than any of the hacks on food network who have shilled away their souls.

>> No.6878806

>>6878795
The point about anti-pretentious is very true.

When I ate there, everything on the plate had a purpose. Ive been to starred restaurants recently where they serve a nice plate of food, and then decide they need to put some strange texture using some modern technique, just because its the 'in' thing. Completely unnecessary.

it's not the food who is so expensive ( even if tests rants like this have a higher food cost as a hamburger joint)
most of the cost come from:
kitchen staff
waiter staff
investment
wine cellar

I ate at the Maze grill this summer. The steak was fantastic and some of the best I'd ever eaten. The salad and coffee were both really good, and the onion rings were only okay. That could be a difference in what fried food tastes like in London vs other countries.
