I was recently on the hunt for a small bag of unsalted cashews to use in Asian cooking and the cunts all sold 500g bags of salted shit for fuck all or 200g unsalted for twice the price

My supermarket has a whole seperate section for unsalted/raw nuts that range from home brand to special snowflake. The salted or otherwise flavoured ones are rightfully in the junk food aisle.
I buy plain roasted peanuts for a lot of SEA stuff I cook but they're nice to snack on too.
Sort of unrelated but I always find it amusing how the overpriced hipster health foods are all segregated in their own section in the most 'healthy' isle too.

I can guess why, though: lots of Indonesians, West Africans and white trash in my area. The 'norities won't buy salted peanuts and the white trash prefers the flavoured shit.

I have to go specifically to a nuts/dried fruits store to get just plain salted and I can't always go out of my way to go to one.
So my options are either to make my way to one of those stores or pray to Baby Jesus and Mr. Peanut that Planters decides to have coupons in the paper or circular at the same time there's a supermarket sale because otherwise, I'm not spending $5/lb for fucking peanuts sold in 12oz canisters when cashews only cost a buck more per pound. The nut stores sell them for $2-$3/lb, depending on the store and the day of the week. They sell cashes for $4-$5/lb. I think it's cheap because they don't have to deal with packaging and advertising costs.

The only things I've planted this year are herbs yet my back garden is full of wild celery though there's also a tomato plant, a bean plant of some sort and a peanut plant. The peanut plant is probably because of the Indonesians/West Africans here who buy raw peanuts from the supermarkets to boil at home. I'm guessing squirrels occasionally get their hands on raw peanuts and think it's a good idea to bury them in my garden.
