How hard is it to cook a soup yourself? No ready mixes or such, but all from fresh ingredients and some spices.

Which soup should I start with? I was thinking maybe red lentils and onions, maybe some garlic in that, but what else?

Incredibly easy and doesn't take any effort or time unless you're making stocks from scratch.

All you really need is//
>Good stew beef or a spiced meat such as chorizo or andouille sausage
>Good chicken stock

From then on you can throw whatever the fuck vegetables you want in there.

Season to taste.

Add cream for richness.

It's not hard, just remember that celery and celery salt are cancerous as fuck and will take over the entire soup if you aren't careful.

What chorizo do you all usually buy?
The hotdog-style cheap one, the powdery import one, the extra hot devil logoed one, or the pre sliced one with chunks of fat gobs in it?

I'm really scared of buying any foreign sausages with those coarse grinded meats inside them, much safer buy hotdog-brand chorizo-flavored ones.
