nigga, you ain't broke as fuck. $120 is more than some of the skellies around here spend on a month of groceries. $120 is how much a small family would spend on their family for two weeks. what's the difficulty here? stock up on essentials, if you avoid spending money on crap you should have more than enough provisions for a month or two.

At my Ralph's, think Kroger's is the same 'cause they use Kroger brand shit, there's a section where all the dented cans, soon-to-expire (like a month away) organic and rare things go. The produce dpt also has its own shelf for cheap things like bruised organic apples and shit like that. It's dope as fuck. Love it.

I make a lentil soup with garlic, onion, celery, frozen mixed veg, spicy smoked sausage (andouille is nice), and chicken breast. Add potato also if not enough meatiness. That evidence is somewhat outdated. If you pay attention to the trends in thinking, you'll see that over the past decades nutritionists have starting to discover just how misguided their entire field has been. From the Journal of the American Medical Association

Conclusions Red meat consumption is associated with an increased risk of total, CVD, and cancer mortality. Substitution of other healthy protein sources for red meat is associated with a lower mortality risk.

Meat is a major source of protein and fat in most diets. Substantial evidence from epidemiological studies shows that consumption of meat, particularly red meat, is associated with increased risks of diabetes,1 cardiovascular disease (CVD),2 and certain cancers.3 Several studies also suggest an elevated risk of mortality associated with red meat intake.

do you have a slow cooker? If so, pulled pork! $2 bottle of bbq sauce, 1 cup bbq sauce per 4 lbs pork butt. Boneless pork butt is about $2/pound and fucking delicious.

Mix it with rice and beans and that's 3 (really really good) meals for each of you for about $10.

Boom now you only $110 for 12 days.

Pasta and homemade sauce - you can use chicken if you feel rich, lentils if you don't. Canned tomatoes (diced, puree, stewed, etc) are about $0.40/lb. Pasta's about $0.50/lb. Might be able to make the pasta cheaper (and certainly more delicious) if you make it yourself instead of buying it, but it's also a big hassle.

So that's 5 or 6 big dinners for the both of you for about $18 spent.

Get you some seltzer, that shit's delicious. $2/12 pack.

Buy two dozen eggs, about $5 total, maybe a bit less. A block of cheddar about $4. A few loaves of bread or packs of english muffins $6. A bunch of plum tomatoes $4. That's $19 for a delicious breakfast sandwich for both of you every day.

So to recap, you've got 5 dinners and 15 breakfasts covered for $39. 10 dinners to go, you can obviously skip lunch.

Trader Joe's sell some delicious frozen beef wellington about $8. Treat yourself, for saving so much money the last 5 days. Get some of their cheap wine too

Now you've spent $50. 9 dinners to go, $70.

Use some of your breakfast tomatoes to make pico de gallo. Jalapenos are about 20 cents, cilantro's basically free, onions are cheap AF too (let's assume you get a whole bag of onions for $4). Get you a pack of "mexican" shredded partially-dried cheese and some tortillas for $5. Make quesadillas with pico. Mad delish. Not healthy. But that's fine.

Next day, cook up some of that ground beef into hamburgers. Use some of that block cheddar, extra jalapenos, tomato, onion, etc. You can splurge on some nice mustard if you don't have any yet, let's say $3 plus $1.50 for the buns. Serve it with rice and beans (lets say you spent $15 on rice/beans CONTINUED

>> No.6623625

>>6623614
7 days to go, $55.

Eat that top sirloin. Onions, garlic, whatever. Get some mushrooms for $1.50. 6 days to go.

Make some more pulled pork. Or pulled chicken, if you want. You use the other half of the BBQ sauce for this, and spend $10 on meat.

3 days to go, $43.50 in the bank.

More pasta and sauce - let's assume you're doing something different than last time. Add some ground pork. About $10 for all ingredients and it'll last you the rest of the time.

There you go OP, you get to eat like a king for the next 15 days. meat at every meal. Since you've got like $35 left over you can even get some nice beer :D

>beans are gross as fuck
welp, you can just waste all your money and die, then
But seriously, beans aren't gross, for that I truly do think you're an imbecile. It is more of a simplification of a concept, though.

The concept being: find a good set of cheap staples in your region that you can buy in bulk and have a good nutritional value. The better the nutritional value on their own is best, but combined is fine too so long as you know you can make a consistent supply. Search terms like complete protein, and check up on vitamin and mineral dietary requirements in addition to macro nutrients, and fill out your meal planning as needed for maximum cheapness. Otherwise, just make sure you get some varied fats, fruits and vegetables, and the occasional meat in there.
To take it further, combine that with extreme cheapskating like dumpster diving (figurative and sometimes literal from what I've seen around here, though I would NOT recommend that) and salewhoring, and you can live quite well off of insanely small amounts of money, but it takes effort, especially to get a system going that works for you. It's not a big deal once you get it down, but I stopped living that way as soon as I started making more money. Some people are fine with it even when they have the money.
