Really OP, if you want to be strict on your diet, make meal plans. They don't need to end up at 1000 calories, just cut out all snacks, candy or whatever and soda. Being strict on your diet means being strict on your snacking basically. Get a grip on that and you're good to go! I guess I don't need to tell you that adequate amounts of exercising also play a big role, but don't go Schwarzenegger on the gym. Just 3 times a week for an hour, you don't need to go ham on everything. Diet is the most important factor.

You're allowed to lose like 1 to 2 pounds per week. 1lb = 3500 calories. That's a weekly 7000 calorie deficit per week max. That's also 1000 per day. You are likely exceeding that, especially if you work out.

First and foremost, find your Basic Metabolic Rate. That's how many calories you lose just by sitting there breathing and circulating. It can be found by testing or roughly by calculating. Get a pedometer and start working out so you can find how many calories you burn. Work with deficits from there.

If you try to find a quick fix, you will never last.

I'm 6'1" and I was 350lbs. I stopped eating carbs and started eating higher counts of protein and veggies. I stopped eating beef and chicken that are bought from stores and opted to eat fish.
Drink lots of water.
Cut dairy from your diet.
Eat small meals, 3-4, a day.
Drink coffee or tea in the morning before you exercise. This with help with you metabolism.
You want to turn your body into a furnace, you need to feed it. You also need to exercise like a machine.
I tend to exercise 5 days a week, leaving my weekends to rest.
