What does /ck/ think about the pickle diet?

Pickles are the healthiest food in the world. The nutritional value of each pickle is only 10 kcal. This means that to consume your daily allotted calories (the standard basal metabolic rate being considered to require 2000 calories), you need to eat 200 pickles a day. Whole jars of pickles do not contain that many units.

I have been eating nothing but pickles for a week now and I haven't felt better.

Why aren't you taking the pickle challenge yet, anon?

You can actually soak pickles in water overnight or longer if you find a type too salty or are looking to reduce salt. But healthiest food in the world? No. One of the tastiest foods in the world IMHO, but not one of the healthiest.

Pickling destroys a lot of the beneficial nutrients and phytochemicals. It also causes the formation of urethane, nitroso compounds, and other carcinogens.

The high salt content is also harmful.

That's eating 14 pieces of gum every day maybe--the doctors don't even know. its not from fake sugar. this an isolated case, not something shown to be repeatable and causal
