Theres literally no reason to use white sugar. If you do you are supporting the patriarchy.

If any recipe calls for sugar use brown. Theres no point in white pieces of shit existing, or thebleached sugar.

i love the taste brown sugar, but i'm diabetic.

good thing black strap molasses exists. mix a teaspoon with an artificial sweeter (i like splenda and xylitol), and you've got all the flavor of brown sugar, minus the high glycemic load.

blackstrap molasses tastes terrible. you can't even cook with it, because you cant hide the tasty. Imagine if you put a roll of pennies inside a sock, thats what it tastes like. There is a reason that 99% of it is used as animal food. there is a reason you dont see 'pepperage farms Blackstrap Molassess snaps"

But it is. Next you're going to suggest that whole grains aren't healthier than refined ones, either. Just because hipster milfs at whole foods buy them doesn't mean they aren't better for you. Go ahead and base your nutrition and diet on some fedora meme though. I wanted to be cool once, too.

Maybe the garbage you're buying is.
>implying the healthfullness of brown sugar comes from the fact that it's brown sugar
I wasn't implying that at all. But, incidentally, the same process that takes the brown out of sugar also removes any of its nutritious benefit, as well. If you need proof that brown sugar is healthier just check the labels yourself. I bet you also didn't know that many vitamins and nutrients found in fruits and vegetables exist as pigments which give them their colors.

The US has sugarcane subsidies....beet sugar is what the rest of the world relies upon, not the US.

From wikipedia:

"Brown sugar is often produced by adding sugarcane molasses to completely refined white sugar crystals to more carefully control the ratio of molasses to sugar crystals and to reduce manufacturing costs."

read: cheap brown sugar is just flavored sugar

>>6471166
The US has SUGAR subsidies. They apply equally to both sugarcane and sugar beets.
