I grew up on a ranch, where we raised cattle, sheep, and goats mainly, but also chickens, donkeys, llamas, horses, and pigs. I've seen chickens, sheep, goats, and cattle slaughtered and processed. What you do, if you are an omnivore (which I am) is you look at those animals and first off, treat them with respect and care while you raise them, and then thank them and thank mother nature for providing you with food when you slaughter them. You SHOULD be reverent about where your food comes from. It's not an easy task to raise animals for food, and it's not easy to see a steer that you raised from a newborn calf be slaughtered for your dinner (and dinner for the next year, at that.). In this day and age, people expect instant gratification with the least amount of personal responsibility possible, and THAT is the problem (or should I say, one of) with both factory farming and consumers not understanding where their food comes from.

Well you can do it southern style by making a cornstarch batter and seasoning it well and then pan frying the squirrel. Pretty good.

Another one that's good is marinating it with some olive oil and your favorite seasonings and then pan frying with a fat.

Main tip: when cooking squirrel always use fat or butter, keeps it moist. Squirrels tend to dry out really fast so having butter or fat helps with that.

You can also wrap it with a strip of bacon and cook it like that in a skillet. Bretty good

Humans, like any other primate do not need meat to survive. Chimps, who are much better equipped than us to hunt and eat meat only get 2-3% of their nutrition from animals. A lot of that comes from bugs too.

Humans need protein to survive but perhaps the biggest misconception in the west is only meat contains protein. It's more protein dense than plant sources on average but that's it.

Whether you want to eat animals for nutrition is your choice, as long as you're not into animal torture killing for food is acceptable. But don't fool yourself into thinking that like the lion you need to kill other animals to survive or even thrive. You don't. Not even close. It's something we choose to do because we can.

For someone who has been vegan for years, there is no planning involved. I just eat my regular meals, as I'm sure you do, because you've eaten the same way for many years yourself.
It's not "harder" to be vegetarian/vegan, it's simply different than what you're used to and have been taught from an early age, and as such if you were to transition, this kind of information might help you keep in mind what you need to look out for.

Firstly, I'll let you know that I'm a cyclist- it's my main mode of transport- my daily commute to work and back is 30km. That should give you an idea of my knowledge of health and nutrition.

B12 has nothing to do with eating animals, as it's actually a bacteria that clings onto the rotting flesh of animals, and also found in dirt. The issue with it not being *as* available in plants is a hygiene issue of how our food is over-washed, not a meat issue.

not eating meat is a ripple effect, not only have I just removed the pleasure of eating meat, now I can't enjoy cooking as much because I have limited my recipes, I can't enjoy socializing as much because I lose the ability to walk into any restaurant and have good meal, If I go to someones house for a dinner party I need them to make special considerations for me, I have to spend more money on my food, and so on.
