han ah reum is top tier. That said, I recently learned they make dashi packets like what the fuck, I don't have to boil some dried ass seaweed and dried up sardines to make stock??? It's just like a tea bag but its full of dried seaweed and sardines and perfectly for my single serving life. That said I've been having a lot of udon since its winter.

I grew up down the street from a Han Ah Reum. Since I left, they have turned it into a 2-story Korean shopping mall with Han Ah Reum on the 1st floor, and a Korean food court on the 2nd floor (with a bunch of Korean stores inside too). Love going there whenever I'm back to visit family.

I compared the prices on that site to what I pay locally for a few snack-food items, and they're pretty comparable at +/- $0.30. Regardless of whether your buying online or in an actual store, there's a big markup on pre-packaged foods from Asia, so I think that evens out the prices from online stores vs. actual stores. Shipping would be the biggest additional cost. That website also carries a lot more than my local place, so that's another bonus.

If you do end up ordering from there, report back and let us know how it goes. I browse that website a lot but because I live near a few different asian markets I never bother ordering. I'm considering it though...

I thought my hometown was bad, because it just had two normal supermarkets that didn't even sell soy sauce in bottles larger than 250ml (and expensive!), but it was only a half-hour train ride to the nearest big city, which had about six. It was a pain walking 20-30 minutes back to the station carrying multiple glass litre bottles of soy sauce and vinegar, but still a better situation than I'm in now. They also had a South Asian supermarket in the nearest big town, which had shit like daikon (sold as mooli) and a great selection of cheap fresh veg.

I can order online if I pay $10 delivery (which is less than the train fare, I guess) but I can't get fresh or frozen produce that way, only stuff with a long shelf life like soy sauce and rice.

It's probably because things that have MSG added (typical chinese food, snack foods, etc) are loaded with sodium anyway, so I'm willing to bet whatever you ate was loaded with grease and salt.

yesterday was a fun oriental grocery day. I went with my friend who had never been to one before. We chugged a few beers before we went in and had a grand time. got pic related ($0.75 for all the cilantro, fuck yea) as well as a few other things, she got some shit too

we then went down the block to a bar and drank some more, watched thr games and shared the green tea iced cream we got with the bartenders. all but one loved it. one of the bartenders blended up some of the iced cream and some milk for a delicious milkshake

which fish should i try first?

I love going to my local Asian market. It's actualliy closer to my house than the nearest normal American market. I love it.

I want to buy fish, but I don't know hwo to cut it. The fish looks so fresh, but I'm afraid to buy it.

I recently made my very first miso soup this past weekend. It was a success.

I like anal sex with women as my hobby.
