Breakfasts are for the most part very simple. The only fried food you would see is scrambled eggs which are probably the most common breakfast item. They're usually fried with sausage and onions or topped with green onions. Another popular cooked item is something like a Vienna sausage, or wiener. Those are boiled and served hot with mustard (ketchup for kids).

But most typically what you'd see is a plate full of cold cuts and cheese slices. Another plate with tomatoes and cucumbers. Cottage cheese.

Breakfast is always served with bread or buns that were bought early in the morning. If you're lucky it's with savory croissants (pic related). When I was a child tea was always made for everyone but lately when I visit my family everyone just drinks coffee.

And of course I should mention that most people just eat a toast or quick sandwich for breakfast. But the older generations, like my grandparents, used to eat dumplings in boiled milk (kluski na mleku)

>>Flaki

2nd generation Polish-American here and flaki is fuck'n disgusting!

My dad on the other hand, LOVED the stuff and every so often mom would make up a huge witch kettle of that nasty shit and freeze single-size portions in Tupperware for dad to microwave and it would stink up the entire house.

My dad would always get a laugh out my disgust and would continually needle me, asking if I wanted some; "Kurwa, you want flaki? Haha, sonofabitch!"

Now pierogi - I'd eat the fuck out of those and my mom made the absolute best.

Pierogi with champignons and cabbage (80 to 20 ratio...people who use more cabbage than champignons are retards) are my favorite dish...there's nothing better for me.

Recently I've consumed a double cheeseburger with 4 slices of cheese, bacon, fried mushrooms, onions, lettuce, tomato and some bbq sauce and washed it down with 1l of kefir, which is something between a buttermilk and a yoghurt.

Everyone told me I'd shit my guts out, but guess what? Not even a fart.
You gotta appreciate how this kind of food steels your digestive system.
