I won't get into the best one where I live. There are too many historic steakhouses with subtle variations that make labeling "the best" one a matter of personal preference instead of quality. The best steakhouse I visited outside my hometown was this one in Spain called Horno de Gregorio. I ate there on a couple of trips, and it was hands-down the best steak I had outside my hometown. Great sangria and olives as well.

Doe's Eat Place or Texas de Brazil are supposed to good in my town (Baton Rouge). I haven't tried them yet. Texas de Brazil sounds like a nightmare atmosphere wise.

I moved from New Orleans where Crescent City Steakhouse was my favorite. I like the way I cook steak vs the other available options here. All but one place are chain steakhouses, and I have never been pleased with the offerings of chain steakhouses.

The steakhouses I like are hard to find nowadays.

A steakhouse is supposed to be simple. My ideal steakhouse: I want to go by myself; no husband, no children. Just me. I don't want fancy shit,sauces, marinades, or elaborate side dishes. Just steak and a glass of good wine. A bread basket is acceptable on the table. If you really want them. If you have to have them; there are maybe three sides available to choose from ( à la carte) usually creamed spinach, baked potato, or a side salad with homemade dressing. Maybe a glass of good scotch at some point before or after the meal. I want a beautifully aged, grass fed (yes, I said it- and I meant it too), prime, rib eye with nice marbling. I want it on the rarer end of medium rare. Super rare and blue rare are good for filet mignon, I like rib eye steak.

I realize OP is a troll, but I have something to say.

The best steak in the world is in America, and the best steak in America is in Las Vegas, and that would be at the steakhouse called CarneVino.

To give you an idea about the Mario Batali steakhouse, they have a warehouse a couple miles down the road that was constructed specifically to age beef. Adam Perry Lang has a special continuous breeding and raising program of Neiman Ranch beef, where roughly 12-15 head a week go to this warehouse and age for a minimum of 60 days. Primal cuts of loin, strip, and ribeye are moved weekly to properly receive air movement, moisture, and temperature.

After a ribeye ages for 60-75 days (or if you call ahead, you can get the rare and precious "riserva", aged for over 100 days, up to 200 days), the primal cut is trimmed and split into individual 18oz steaks, then brought to correct temperature, rubbed with a bit of garlic and rosemary, seared in a 1200F broiler, and brought to your table in a temperature controlled box to be carved tableside by a man in a fancy suit, dressed with olive oil, and plated for you and yours.

The result is, without a doubt, the best steak you have ever had. Along with a cocktail from the consummate professionals at the bar or a wine from the sommelier, and a few inspired sides or apps by the chef, there is no better steakhouse in the world.
