Whenever a NY style pizza is shown it is usually the shittiest NY pizza they could find. Most likely from a gas station or somewhere that does not specialize in pizza sales for business. It is probably to fuck with the chicago people, emphasizing that this shitty NY slice is better than your deep dish. Most American Pizza looks similar to Italian Pizza, just less artsy with different toppings. Of course that is because the only good pizza places in the US are owned by Italians. Anywhere outside the American Northeast, which is where most of the Italians settled, your luck of getting a decent pizza is slim.

They like to mix sweet and savory more than Americans? Corn probably tastes sweet to them. They don't have room for corn fields so being able to have corn is like having steak, a distinctly American thing. So they like to put corn on otherwise savory dishes and trying to emulate American diet. Americans eat pizza, Americans eat corn, put them together.

As for mayo, I have no idea. I guess it's tangly and creamy and they don't get a lot of dairy products. I know Mexicans put mayo on roast corn cobs and ice cream.

Shows what the hell you know about "fast food" in Europe. The difference between "fast food" there and here is that here it's run by a franchise and everything arrives pre-made, in a bag from a factory all processed to shit.

Over there "fast Food" is a guy with a store front the size of a closet Who orders fresh ingredients wholesale from a local delivery. You think those guys in Germany have frozen pizza dough and dehydrated skim "mozzarella"?

they have the big franchise places there but no one but teenagers actually eats there.

I've yet to have any pizzeria pizza here on vancouver island yet, but I'm kinda curious to try it, being from jew york where you can get awesome pizza within 5 minutes of anywhere.
They're kinda far away though (I'm staying in the middle of nowhere with no food places to go to within hours) and I usually don't feel much like greasy food while traveling.

>Daily reminder that you can't in a million years compare the regional differences between Michigan, Mississippi and Montana with the regional difference between Belgium, Belarus and Bulgaria.

Montana:
English colonies were established in Helena and the Yellowstone Valley in 1882; a few French came to Missoula County; and a few Dutch families settled in the Gallatin Valley in 1893. The Finnish lumberman settled east of Missoula in 1892. Italians and Germans settled in Fergus and Park counties. Many Germans came in through Canada.
The cattlemen were English and Scottish but the Germans owned the cattle. The sheep men were also English and Scottish.
A group of 506 came into Montana from Ryson, Wisconsin. They settled near Billings in 1882. Southerners settled in the Bitterroot Valley.
The smelters and mills of the Anaconda Cooper Mining Company drew Scandinavian and Irish workers. In 1900 the Balkans arrived. Irish, Poles and Italians worked the coalmines of Cascada, Carbon and Musselshell counties.

The ten largest reported ancestries in Michigan are:[53]
German (21.8%)
Irish (11.6%)
English (9.9%)
Polish (8.9%)
French or French Canadian (6.5%)
American (5.3%)
Dutch (5.0%)
Italian (4.8%)
Scottish (2.4%)
Swedish (1.7%)

Mississippi doesn't lend itself well to cut n paste.

Mostly English, Scots, and Irish.

French Creole, Chinese and African ethnicities are also strongly represented.

Belgium, Belarus, and Bulgaria are more homogenous than any one of the United States. They certainly do have more in common with each other than do the 3 states you listed.

You should keep in mind that your continent is only 137K square miles larger than our not a continent. That's equal to another Montana minus the area of Hawaii or Massachusetts.

We don't really bother with trivial fripperies. Do something to bring your part of the Third World to our attention and we'll figure out who you are soon enough. Amazon is getting ready to roll out delivery drones, Dominoes Pizza won't be far behind. And then you will know what it's like to be on the receiving end of a high calorie drone strike.

Murrica. Innovating the fuck out of shit other countries are too poor to come up with on their own.

There's really no way those three countries have more in common with each other than any three states. Their populations are obviously more homogenous within themselves because they weren't fucking colonies recently, so they all have a single distinct ethnic and cultural identity.

States don't have that, there's just a skeletal American identity based on what's occurred during the US's short history, admiration for the founding fathers, the constitution, etc. The rest is an assorted mishmash of various european, some asian, some native cultures + invented "african american" culture, which all makes sense because it was build around a policy of immigration.

Throwing everyone into a pot doesn't make culture, micro-culture in the US forms mostly from a large proportion of a population of a given state or city being from the same group so their culture dominates. But that's just old world cultures changing form to adapt to the US, and in areas where one group doesn't dominate they all homogenise to fit together. It's all very well to list demographics, but ethnicities aren't culture, and while recent immigrants may maintain something from their countries, even a few generations down the line, they all trend towards some undefined, generic American culture. There's no way the kind of cultural divide that two neighbouring european countries may have can be achieved within a single country with a common language.

>> No.5749680

>>5749672
Granted, I'm being slightly unfair saying there's only one central American identity, obviously there's more geographical divisions, southerners are pretty distinct from yankees, there's differences between the two coasts, some states seem a little more distinct (Texas, Florida and Cali seem fairly unique, I think). I'd even go so far as to say there's more cultural variety within the Unites States than within any given European country, though I'd say that's a consequence of size and population.
