I never really understood the buying bottled water fad. I mean, everyone that buys it I assume lives in a place with a good tap. Even if the water is kinda shit, you're better off just getting a filter.

I can sort of understand if you don't like room temp water and want cold water immediately. But even then, just collect soda bottles and fill them with water and put em in ya fridge. That's what I did with the 10 soda bottles I had collected to recycle (this are not 2 liters but the 500 ml versions.) I just use those and some Aperture bottle I was given as a gift years ago. I don't really like portal, but the bottle is really nice and holds about 32 oz of water. Refill that nigga twice a day and you got your daily needs. Huh? Who has an IV handy everytime they go running or get sick for half a day?

"Studies estimate IBS affects 3 to 20 percent of the adult population, with most studies ranging from 10 to 15 percent."
http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/ibs/
That's almost "everyday person" level chunk of the population to make this quite popular. Hard for you to understand if you haven't walked the walk.
10% of the population are "runners" or athletics of any regularity/seriousness. That's also a big demographic in the market of buying water.

Look outside yourself and your small world of hating hipster things and judging the world from outside the perspective of the consumers who participate in the market by having a job and living a real life.

>> No.5702425

>>5694702
>But even then, just collect soda bottles and fill them with water and put em in ya fridge.
Dude. This isn't unsanitary. Water isn't sterile you know unless treated, same as your bottle.

If you don't have wide mouth glass bottles, and sanitizing that in bleach, or your dishwasher, you shouldn't be using it day after day and storing it even a day at a time, even if you arent putting your mouth on it. To that end, it's something Voss does have going for itself, it's glass and reusable, but never ever reuse a disposable bottle more than say a day or two. You can't clean that porous surface plastic well, and it was DESIGNED to break down, like in a landfill or be recycled. It was not designed to be reused. The cap size and shape was designed for durability in shipping, and sipping, not for cleaning.

>>5694702

It might be that there are fresher brands locally that have a shorter time in the bottle. Keep trying.
A confusing thing people don't realize is that the more pure the water, the grosser it tastes. You need the right mix and right percentage of dissolved minerals to taste delicious. This means buy "spring" water, not "filtered" or "purified" or distilled water, assuming your labeling is regulated, and is not a big fat lie. Try starting with an evian or pelligrino (if european), these brands are known for the right amount of minerals, and try getting a larger liter bottle if it means you get it in glass. If you still find that to taste off, then, yes, go see your dentist or doctor, something might be wrong there with you. If it tastes delicious to you, then branch out to save money here and there, or never buy from such and such store with old water, but rather stock up at the superbig high volume store occasionally, basically, just try to save money and tolerate what you can within your budget, from brita to generics to seeking out the bargain when it's on sale.

Buy a four pack of Voss glass water they're selling for 6 dollars which is $1.5 per bottle
Scrape Voss logo off (if you care that much what people think about you)
Reuse

it's a great cheap water bottle that won't leech BPA because glass, the top is big so it easily screws and stays on compared to other waterbottles with tiny ass caps that just don't want to shut. I have a britta plastic bpa free waterbottle with a filter that I use way less than the voss bottle because it makes awkward loud sucking sounds while trying to drink the water through the filter and has the tendency to spill either where the top screws onto the bottle or where the spout/filter attaches to the top from being just a tiny bit loose.

i really don't understand how my point is being lost on you, so i'll try to explain:
>be a free-blooded american
>decide that i want liquor
>drink liquor out of glass bottle
>keep bottle as vessel for water for weeks to come

your suggestions:
>buy an empty glass bottle
or
>buy a bottle of expensive water (which you disowned in your post as being douchey!)
>scrape off logo so people won't judge
>the above, times three?!

jesus, if i'm anything, i'm an economist

The guy from Hungary provided no acceptable rebuttal that taking an empty water bottle is pointless if you have a job where water glasses would be available. He blew him the fuck out.

i think his point was more about having a bottle of water on you at all times, regardless of place; that is, be in control of your hydration.

also, what the hell is up with communal glasses? it seems so much more impractical than your own bottle. for example, spilling water all over your desk and keyboard like a dingus, because there's no cap.

Maybe for people like you a sippy cup is a better way to hydrate

That makes no sense, of course there's a point to bringing an empty water bottle. The retard was saying he'd only need to buy bottled water if something unexpected came up, so bringing an empty bottle of water would prevent him from needing to buy something he already has. It is only seems pointless to you and him because you'd both rather waste money to protect your image instead of carrying around a "stupid" empty bottle. I don't know his transport situation, but assuming he is using a "deathcage" to get around, he can just leave it in the car and take it out only when necessary. Or he can just put it in his gym bag or backpack or something. The only real argument that was mentioned so far was taste. If he likes the taste of bottled water, I'm not going to stop him.
