Shows how much you know, they are made with powdered milk, flour of some sort, and heavy cream. After they are formed and then fried they are added to rose syrup while still hot. I am sorry you have had shitty food and I am also sorry you dont actually cook for yourself or try new things. Is there some ramen thread you can add your extensive knowledge base to?

Those aren't Chinese tea eggs?

Sounds almost like a fried baba au rhum ball, and that sounds amazing.

It's probably not like that at all but I'm extremely ignorant of Indian food, especially their sweets.

A lot of Indian sweets are tooth meltingly sweet, to the point where you wouldn't want to eat more than a tiny amount

That doesn't stop them from selling and consuming them by the pound, but hey

Fucking this

I used to live near a place which made them creamy and awesome, I think they used semolina instead of flour. But they didn't come with any cardamom.

Still, god tier snack I don't understand why they don't serve it in takeaways and Indian restaurants

I have to be in the right mood for gulab jaman. They're way too syrupy-sweet for my tastes most of the time.

We Iranians have something very similar, Zulbia and Bamiye.

They're normally served cold or room temp, but I guess you can heat them up. They're not kept in syrup so they're less sweet (but still sweet as fuck) and crispier/less doughy than the Indian version.

Pic related. I prefer Bamiye, the little nuggets. Sometimes they can be shaped like little rolls the size of a thick finger.

Zulbia is pretty much like a very crunchy funnel cake in production and texture

zulbia = more tart version of jalebi
the dough you use is different - you use dahi where we use paneer.
parsi here btw - we make bamiyeh too.

I really love tea eggs. I am a fan of that sweet indian dessert too.

Why? Because it's sweet? That's stupid.

10/10 best dessert though

every time i go to an indian buffet, i get that and masala chai for dessert

next time i'm going to put the chai directly over the gulab jamun

>Because it's sweet?
no, there are many other sweet drinks that aren't for kids. there is a difference between tastes geared towards kids' sweet tooths and adults.

> chai over jamun
ahah they are good together, but that sounds gross

best dessert is pic related. basically rice-based flaky pastry.
