Miso soup and red lentils yes/no? Please, I don't want to make something disgusting and cry while eating it because it's all I own.

It could end up a little bland. Otherwise I would try it.

I got desperate and just ended up doing this, probably the best result I could have hoped for.

Might give this a try sometime.

I just got out of surgery and I'm going through scraps while recovering because walking to the shops is painful, so look forward to more shitty threads about basic ingredients friends. (I know fuck all about cooking)

hey i just bought those lentils! And love miso. You sound just like me, I was about to combine the two.

I was going to boil the lentils or slow cook them in a miso broth, with some onion/leek or garlic.

Is this your fucking Q&A?

>>5677706
There's just something about the texture and mild flavour of red lentils that I thought it might be a bit "off". If your still around tell me how it went/is going please.

Well I never tried red lentils on their own before, so if it really is a bad idea, then I'm glad I havent done it yet.

I've decided to do the recipe on the back of the packet for Lentil "burgers". Sounds amazing. . I think I'll do this first before I try anything with miso so I can get an understanding of how red lentils taste. The suggestion from my previous post with garlic/onion etc is what I do with green lentils, but I use chicken stock instead of miso.

are you the same guy who was flipping out about the paneer thread last week?

?Just finished cooking it, gotta say Celery+carrot+red lentils+curry goes real good together, and a bit of miso wouldnt hurt. It kinda needs some salt anyway

no, and I usually dont post the not your blog comments, but why would people visiting a food and cooking board care or want to read about OP's self proclaimed shitty threads about not knowing how to cook and not even making anything exciting while not knowing, which at least could have provided some novelty

>> No.5679138

Red lentils are always top tier, as are chickpeas.
You can never go wrong with these two ingredients. I eat it it like 3 times a week at least.

>> No.5679166

don't forget salt

you need some salt on them otherwise they taste pretty 'marginally above mediocre'

Miso soup is pretty salty to begin with. This sounds like a decent idea to me.

>>5677494
I will make this

I make this lentil soup with lots of tomatoes and freeze it into portions

when I defrost a container I add frozen spinach, liquid smoke and hot sauce or just eat plain with worcestershire
