it doesn't work very well. THC is highly soluble in alcohol, but it *really* doesn't like water. I have made "green dragon" many times--basically weed steeped in vodka. Even with vodka at 80 proof it doesn't work very well. You need a very high concentration of alcohol to get the THC out, such as everclear. In fact, even the few % of water in everclear hurts its ability to steep out the THC compared to pure lab-grade Ethanol.

It's a fun idea but it doesn't really work in practice. About the only way you could make this work would be if you got some cannabis oil (perhaps extracted from the stems you have using a good strong solvent), and then add the oil plus an emulsifiing agent to your finished mead/wine/beer/whatever. That's the way that commercial "THC infused" beverages are made. Just steeping stems in low ABV isn't going to do squat.

Hmm, I'm wondering if you can infuse the honey early on and go from there.

Like poster above said though, THC doesn't like water, and only likes high ABV%.

Use high proof alc to extract your THC. Blend that into your mead with a stabilizer to keep it in suspended instead of seperating out. Enjoy your canna-mead.

There is almost no THC in pot stems. If you wanted to make hash or oil/earwax/shatter you would need a large amount of sugar leaves, or bud.

(I have a large grow in Colorado, weed is what I do for a living.)

growers have the huge long stems, they're not going to bother breaking them up. Also, they have a shitload of free hash that comes off during the trimming!

The ones that have the tea-sized stems are the ones that get the Ps, and break them into Oz... or even the Oz into 8ths.

As they make the portions smaller, they will have a bunch of 1-2 inch long stems.

And the buyers may have a bunch also, if they save them.

So dealers and buyers, certainly not growers.

Dude, I AM a grower (I have a grow thread in /out/ right now). When processing the weed for packaging and distribution, the weed gets stemmed three times. The only way a dealer would have buckets of stems is if they pre-ground and picked apart many, many pounds of weed- weed that wouldn't sell pre-ground and picked apart.
