Normally I just cook for our family of three. Husband, baby and I. And Baby hardly eats any extra, so it hasn't been much change from cooking for two.

Starting tomorrow and for like 3 days we are having my 3 nephews and one sister in law over. What are some easy and CHEAP meals to make in bulk? First night We;ll do $5 hot and readys from Little Ceasars, but I'm kind of at a loss for what else to do. I was thinking beans and rice for BRC Burritos, but what else, guys?

do hot dogs/ hamburgers one night and "mexican" the other or a pork roast or chicken

Well it's not 5, it's 7, but ok.
So Could I conceivably com a chicken in the slow-cooker? It's getting really hot so I don't like to have the oven on for more than an hour. Most of the recipes I've found for slow cooker say to de-bone the chicken. Ain't nobody got time for that.

I did a pork roast for the 4th. I think I'm going to use the leftovers for their sandwiches tomorrow. We can't BBQ here, so burgers would be a pain. But Hot dogs are a good lunch idea.

do you not have air conditioning?

I do, but my place is pretty small, and it's expensive to have it on all day. If I have the oven on for 2 hours I have to turn the AC on about 20 minutes after I turn the oven on, and then I have to leave it on for like an hour after dinner.

Spaghetti bolognese is easy to make in bulk and relatively hard to fuck up.

Some easier and faster kind of stew, don't know what kind though.

Meatballs and mashed potatoes, some work rolling and frying the meatballs but with someone helping you with that it'd be fairly painless. Don't forget the gravy if you do this.

Potato soup should be easy to make in bulk too, but it's not much of a dinner. Maybe for lunch.

Spaghetti is a great idea! I've always sucked at meatballs though, I always end up just mixing the meat in with the sauce.

I live in LA County. I asked for cheap stuff because money is really tight right now.

You may want to prepare some pasta in bulk and have it ready frozen on some ziploc bags.
Pasta doesn't cost much, you can make many kinds of dishes with it and the bags help to measure the servings.
Also you may want to make "cold" dishes like sandwiches, salads, fruit mixes etc. Things the kids can help you with that way you save time and keep them occupied.

Also i recommend you to make jell-o or fozen pops and have it ready as a snack, it's cheap as fuck and kids love it.

I think I have the heat too high. or I get impatient and try and turn them too fast? They generally fall apart, or I feel like they're not getting cooked on the inside.

>We can't BBQ here, so burgers would be a pain. But Hot dogs are a good lunch idea.
Just throw hamburger patties in a pan. Most hamburgers are not BBQ'ed.

Hot dogs w/baked beans are a classic combo, and a big can of baked beans is still cheap.

Eggs/toast/sausage-or-bacon can make for a decent breakfast, though the 3 nephews might be just as happy with Kokoa Krispies.

Tacos/burritos are definitely a good cheap filler, and with a do-it-yourself spread, folks can customize for various picky tastes.

Just mixing meat in the spaghetti sauce rather than making meatballs is fine. Maybe get a couple loaves of Italian bread to go with it, if they're typical Ameriplebs who like starch with their starch.

Consider basic shit-tier sandwiches for a lunch, like a couple loaves of bread, big pack of bologna, a pack of Kraft singles, iceberg lettuce, and PB&J as an alterantive.

Sides or cheap snacks like off-brand chips or pretzels would probably go over well. Ameriplebs avoid most fresh fruit & veggies, though bananas are relatively popular and surprisingly cheap.
