I mean come on. I'll admit that some of the newest batches of cans are really sexy with their minimalism and cleanliness. But by the same token I wish they weren't so safe.

Is that artwork by Danile Clowes? Just looked it up. Fuck. Never knew he did art for a Coca-Cola test market brand aimed at Gen-X. Then again 1995 was the year I stopped following comics and got heavy into the music scene in downtown NYC. So of course I missed it. Probably never made it here.

Disagree. The anti-folk thing was fun for a second. Then there were Chrome Cranks and Blonde Redhead, which were enough to make it worth going out every once in a while. Then things blew up with with the Strokes, TV On The Radio and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, which made things lots of fun for a few minutes around the turn of the century. Running into Ryan Adams at Niagara at all hours was interesting, too, as he'd adopted the city around then as well.

It was pretty cool. Unfortunately too many people wanted to come to the party. And that kinda pushed out the people responsible for starting the party in the first place, so the party started to suck.

Fortunately the food scene is still exciting, even if the music scene is left smoldering in remote corners in Brooklyn.

I'm conflicted on this. On the one hand I really like the old style can. On the other hand, at first glance, for some reason I'm reminded of cigarettes. And I don't even smoke, and never have. "Diet" also comes to mind.

Going back to the old scheme would work great with a few tweaks though.

Cooler temperature wise? No, they're both the same temperature coming out of the fridge
but a thin aluminum can will lose heat must faster then a thick glass bottle.

>Also, opening a soda can is cooler than opening a plastic or glass bottle.

Nonsense, using a cool bottle opener is cooler and can you can snap/shoot the bottle cap afterwards.

No, not cooler temperature wise.

>Nonsense, using a cool bottle opener is cooler and can you can snap/shoot the bottle cap afterwards.

>needing a tool to gain access to your beverage
Soda can tabs are much cooler because they're smartly designed around human beings. They're common sensically designed and not pretentious, like bottle caps are. The only tool you need, you always have with you: your fingers. Also you can make music with the tabs, flick them around, and play with them in other ways too.

Soda cans have cooler uses after you finish drinking the soda too.

Oh and have fun trying to make the soda spray out of your glass bottle by shaking it for a long time.
