Soda thread? Here are my favorites of each type:

Cola: Nichol Kola (son of a bitch they don't carry this shit at world market anymore, WHYYY)

Fruit: Fentiman's Cherry Tree Cola (not much of a cola but one hell of a cherry drink)

Root Beer: Berghoff Root Beer (only available here in Chicago! but seriously the best)

Ginger Ale/Ginger Beer: Cock & Bull Ginger Beer

Lemon-Lime: Tie. Either Zuberfizz Key Lime Cream or Bundaberg Lemon Lime and Bitters

Unusual: Mauby/Mabi. Seriously, get ahold of this shit if you can. It's so fucking good. Like a root beer with a ferment flavor.

All made from real natural stuff and comes in glass bottles
Tarhun - terragon
Dyushes - pear
Creamsoda - weird sweet vanilla cream taste
Baikal - many herbs - tea, Eleuthero , eucalyptus
Sitro - citrus fruit
Sayani - lemon and marai root
Buratino - weird sweet taste
Kolokolchik - not tasted yet
Kryushon - berries, mostly red grapes
Cigo - chicory
Kadiķis -juniper
Meža oga - forest berries
Not quite soda, but close - birch sap in 3liter jars. That was the stuff.
Also, kvas. Real kvas, not carbonated crap with artificial colors, but actual bread-made kvas.
Oh man, the memories... now they just produce plastic crap.
Those lemonades had just 7 FUCKING days of storage life! Because they were made from REAL stuff not chemical crap.

I've heard if you're careful, Dr. Pepper can make an incredible marinade/glaze on darker cuts of pork. I've also heard if you're not careful with the prep, the meat can become an awful syrupy mess and you'll ruin all of your cookware. I took that with a grain of salt, because the guy was kind of a retard in the kitchen.

I believe manufacture. You see, it wasn't always in store. You had to hunt for them. (Damn soviet deficit economy) You also came with your empty bottles and exchanged that for fresh new lemonade (have no idea, but sodas were called lemonade for some reason, even without any lemon) bottle (the price on the bottle was the price of the drink alone, you had to add extra for the bottle). Those were also small, 0.5L usually. And they were a treat, not drank like everyday water subsitute out of huge half gallon jugs or whole 12-pack crates.
It was quite cheap 0.20(lemonade)-0.35 (baikal drink) roubles for drink, and 0.12 roubles for empty bottle. Of course all prices were the same everywhere (planned economy).

rc and evan green, black for occasions. or old crow,50/50. or if in the club, 7 n 7. (gin and tonic is forbidden if on flight status--quinine and middle ear). peanuts in a coke, frozen zero bars,md20/20 on back of the buss in college, fried spam for breakfast on camping trips or in mac 'n cheese,. I kinda like RC but my brand loyalty is, well, 0. To be honest, (why lie) I went grocery shopping today.I bought 2 2 litere store brand 0 cola, a large bottle low salt v-8, a bottle diet cran-cherry "juice", a half gallon 1% milk, A half gallon buttermilk, 8 24 oz bush ice, a hanger of relski vodka and a fifth of gilbeys gin. miscellaneous eats (some pretty good, I really can and do cook)I like rc, but I don't drink soda unless diet. really not a problem. I just don't like "sweet" stuff. (sweet tea makes me gag-just water thanks). Not much of a bourbon drinker WT101,crow, double a, (yeah less than refined tastes) If satan himself offered me rc and henry Mckinna ,we would talk. thats a lie. I'd have some, and talk as old friends. individual taste.my favorite no alky drink/ water and lemon. how can you drink that shi/stuff. it's just preference.
