Mom's birthday is coming up. I want to try doing a batch of traditional snickerdoodles, but then lacing over them with a caramel in a criss-cross pattern. Will those flavors (caramel and cinnamon sugar) mix well?

how? do you make the milk caramel first?

generally you use a store bought caramel (think the unwrapped ones) but you're free to make your own caramels to stuff. I would highly recommend a salted caramel if you're making them yourself as it'd contrast nicely with the cinnamon sugar

I wasn't even the guy that recommended it

I just realize its delicious

Can you just explain what is happening before you ignore me? Did salted caramel touch you as a kid?

wait, stuff them? I was thinking of making little caramel disks, sandwiching them together with the dough, and then sealing them with my fingers

Wow, your mom must really love you or is fat

If you want to drizzle caramel over them the store bought candies are nice and easy, you just have to warm them and maybe stir in a little water. But making your own caramel is also easy and you can get that nice toasty flavor of dark caramel, and just use a parchment cone for the drizzling

I would make a few test cookies if you are gonna stuff them. They could easily leak and the caramel could get overcooked if you don't make them the right size or if you put too much inside

Good luck I'm sure your mom is gonna love them either way
