I like my fried eggs to be partially burnt.

The whites taste better crispy and toasty. As long as the yolk doesn't overcook, you're good.

Fried eggs are fucking great if done properly. Murica here, growing up our dad would occasionally make breakfast which usually consisted of waffles and bacon (it was a once in a while treat).

But he'd always save the bacon grease and fry eggs in them for whoever wanted one. Fucking goooood

Nope. US here too and fried eggs are common here.

well yeah. but how do you want your fucking eggs fried?

over easy?
sunny side up?
over medium?
overhard?

etc.

In Canada, a "fried egg" is literally just over easy or sunny-side up or whatever, it refers to any egg that's cooked by cracking the whole egg into a frying pan.

UK here, that term is so common.

If the person has an preferred done-ness to the egg then Im sure they would specify, otherwise most people just want their egg "cooked".

"over easy/medium/sunny side up" seem like unnecessary terms, the egg is going to taste really fucking similar unless you over-cook it.

>the egg is going to taste really fucking similar unless you over-cook it.
no shit sherlock, the reason to specific easy/medium/hard is to tell the cook how runny you want your yolk. Some people prefer really runny (like me) to dip their toast in. Others want it practically cooked through. It's still an egg either way.

>> No.5250508

>>5250499
Has to do with the texture. Some people want runny yolks and crispy whites, the best option to get this is to say you want it over medium

>> No.5250513

>>5250499
>>5250499
Its all about the texture. Sunny sides have the white about 1/2 cooked, oe have the white about 80% cooked, om white is cooked through, oh the yolk is also cooked through

>>5250505

>Some people prefer really runny (like me) to dip their toast in. Others want it practically cooked through.

The former runny yolk should be the norm and should be assumed when somebody says they want a "fried egg".

If you want for whatever reason solid yolks then its on you to specify your uncommon requirement.

sure if you want someone to fucking complain about how you undercooked their egg (yes this does happen, people are in fact retarded)

"over" means you flip them over to put the yolk to the pan.

easy/medium/hard means how long after flipping over you serve it.

Negros love their eggs "well done", "dry" or covered in American cheese like product. I do not understand why blacks cannot eat partailly cooked food, well done beef, hard eggs, browned (as in, it has been baked off, than cut for a pasta/stirfry station) chicken or anything similar. I cannot even understand why,
