I've noticed Asian interpretations of Western cuisines land in this weird uncanny valley of food. Like it's clearly done in imitation of the real thing, but somehow off.

>bacon is unconditionally soft
>eggs are cooked into rubber
And a whole lot of things are much sweeter than they're meant to be. Even in the pic above, you can see an attempt at fries that ends up close to sliced baked potatoes.

I bet that "steak" or "hamburger" has a ton of sugar in the sauce.
And that they call that sort of bunless thing covered in sauce a hamburger is also off.

Sure, similar things happen with non-domestic cuisines in other nations, but it's not nearly as weird
>Chinese people making Chinese food in Clapistan
>Indian people making curry in Britain
>Middle Easterners making kebabs everywhere
They get it right because they know how it's made. Even the restaurants owned or staffed by people of "mismatched" ethnicity can get it right because they went somewhere and learned how stuff was made and how it is meant to taste, or they were taught by the people mentioned above.

Not so in China or Korea in Japan. Go to some "Italian" place on the street that isn't $$$$ and it will just taste strange.
