Is it only me who likes cheese and jam? i've been experimenting with different cheeses and jams and i seem to like a great many combinations, but anyone who i have told about mixing cheese and jam seems to have recoiled in horror at the idea of mixing the two.
am i the only one who likes cheese and jam?

Oh my god, from the thumbnail I thought those were poorfag "pizzas".

The reality is oh so much worse.

>> No.5177721

I've never tried it but I would imagine it could be good with a super sharp cheddar.

What's your usual combination of cheese and jam?

>> No.5177729

I love cheese with ginger preserves or orange marmalade in a grilled sandwich.

Cheddars, blue cheeses, Wensleydale and smoked seem to compliment the cheese nicely

Probably the only combination of jam and cheese I eat though

Cheese and Jam is a godly breakfast combination. A better alternative than butter in your toast.

This makes a lot of sense since fruits and cheese pair well together. I was put off at first when I thought of it but many times I've had a cheeseboard I've at the very least had grapes, and sometimes chutneys, fruit leather, and so on. I have some cheddar and some bramble jam so I'll try this, maybe with my parmesan as well.

In Polland it was actually pretty popular about 20 years ago. I love to mix cheese and jam. My top 3 combinations are:

Mascarpone and roseberies jam (esp on tartas)
Plain white cheese (like cottage cheese) and orange jam with crust with lemon zest on white crunhy toast
Gouda with plum jam (but this typical Polish plum jam - powidła śliwkowe) on white bread

I will use cream cheese (Laughing Cow cheese wedges) on one piece of toast, jam on the other, and then mush them together.

Went through a cheese-marmalade kick for a bit, but that got old fast.

Just remember not to mix them. Put jam on top of cheese, but don't mix them!

I could see an apple-based jam being good with say a bleu cheese.

I love apples and cheese, and jam with cream cheese is great on toast. I'll give this a try OP

Cheese and jam is normal.

Hence cheesecake.

Hence apple pie with cheddar.

People who are shocked by this have no ability to imagine tastes.

These are sad small people and I pity them.

The tastes of soft cheeses such as those in cheesecake are mild so I don't think that's a good comparison. I've also not heard of apple pie with cheddar.

Well lucky me I stumbled upon this thread.

I just bought extra sharp cheddar and have some strawberry jam. Would these two go best on crackers or 100% wheat toast?
