Yeah, Louisiana is my go to hot sauce. I have a lot of others that I use, but that's my all around staple.
Anyway, the Crystal guy....yeah. I don't remember every detail anymore, but the gist of it was that animals and other things were constantly falling into the vats, and there was no way to get them out, because the sauce is so acidic and fumes so strong you would be injured trying to fish stuff out. Apparently people were injured pretty frequently, with chemical burns and stuff, and the health inspector had to shut the place down for a a few days until they could try and stop rats and mice and other small animals from falling in. The guy went into detail about it, which I can't do, but it was bad.

Vinegar-based hot sauces are pretty boring. I guess when you eat a lot of bland foods like Taco Bell and processed carbohydrate-rich foods you need this kind of thing.

Used some to make some wings yesterday in the wake of all the murricans going on about Superbowl food on /sp/ the other day.

Frank's really is my favorite hot sauce. It's not the sexy hipster sauce, but I do use it pretty often.
