What dairy-free milk is the best?

Drank cow's milk until I was a teen, then tried almond milk and never looked back. Can't stand cow's milk now, feels like I'm swallowing bleached snot.

Soy milk for basically everything (especially cereal).

Almond milk for baking and cooking if you want a little nutty flavour.

Rice milk for drinking straight.

Westsoy makes an unsweetened chocolate soy milk that I've become addicted to, but in general I don't like soy milk, and prefer almond to anything else. I always buy the unsweetened, because it has a better flavor than the sweet stuff. I just bought some sunflower seed milk, but I haven't tried it yet. Hemp milk has a strange flavor to it that I can't get into. Cashew cream is awesome for coffee, although I usually drink coffee black.

This is better than any chocolate milk I've ever had.

Oh, forgot about flax milk, that's my favorite in general, because it's very neutral tasting and lowest in calories whilie still being extremely good for you, but it's more expensive than the other milks (it only comes refrigerated, while I can buy tetra paks of the other types of non-dairy milk) so I don't buy it all the time. But I highly recommend it. Again, I buy the unsweetened.

I'm 19, 5'10", and lactose intolerant.

My cousin says I should drink tons of milk to squeeze out a few last inches before I hit 21 and stop growing.

Is it worth the shits, /ck?

Can these non-dairy milks be used the same for cooking? Will I get the same creamy taste from mac & cheese if I use one of these instead of cow's milk? I don't drink milk, but I do use it for cooking.

I used almond milk the last time I made mac and cheese and it was still nice and creamy. It had a slight nutty flavour, which was actually pleasant.

soy is immensely better than cow's milk plain imo. I haven't even tried almond that I can remember, it's not a common thing here.
I don't drink much milk and never have it straight, just a little bit in evening tea and breakfast. I avoid all dairy more than most people.

Sure you can but DON'T use rice milk!! I did and it made the mac and cheese have this really sweet smell that just did not mesh with the other flavors going on. I can't even use it in shakes anymore because all I taste is that extremely sweet yet off smell.

No. What? No. If you're lactose intolerant, you don't digest milk properly. If you're not digesting it properly, you're not gaining much from it. Stop listening to your cousin.

Can you have fresh/aged cheese, yogurt, and butter? If you can, just stick with those. Yogurt, especially. It's just fermented and easier to digest milk with a bunch of good bacteria in it.

Silk Pure Almond unsweetened, can't tell the difference.

If you drink dairy milk past puberty you are a stupid faggot.

Cultured dairy is ok, but drinking milk for another species is unnatural.

Nuts and seeds are full of nutrients and antinutrients to give nutrition to the nut or seed once it sprouts and begins to grow into a plant, and to protect it from being eaten.

You're just taking the nutrients from nuts, seeds, or grains, meant for the nut, seed, or grain, and turning it into milk by adding water. It's unnatural.

I don't understand the comparison to all other mammals argument for why humans don't drink milk. There's literally hundreds of other ways in which we differ fundamentally from other mammals, and are much more advanced because of it. Why is it suddenly so important to remain consistent with mammals on this one?

nigga are you fuckin serious. The almond milk taste adds its own sweetness to whatever cereal you're eating. It is god-tier for cereal compared to soy milk.

I haven't tried rice milk, though. How does it taste compared to the other types of "milk"?

What brand of almond milk do you buy? The one I had was unsweetened and tasted kind of grainy--not pleasant with cereal at all. I find soy milk to be more neutral, like regular milk.
