Gentlemen, I need a new midnight snack to replace those cancerous chicken nuggets that I eat. Something tasty and easy to make and that won't make my heart stop in 20 years. Could you give me some recommendations? Thanks in advance.

I think popcorn will make too much noise for the small apartment I live in. Baked potatoes mite b cool, the others I've never heard of, dunno if they're available in my country. Will check though, there's a small market with some fancy shit close by.

Nice.

How about making your own oven baked chicken nuggets?

Chicken fillets cut in to your typical nugget sized pieces.

Roll in flour, dip in eggwash and then roll them in breadcrumbs with seasoning or in crushed potato chips, or both. Experiment with what you like.

Put those bad boys on an oven tray and throw them in the oven.

I tried it and was unimpressed. I mean, it's good, but it's not good enough to be worth the trouble. Besides, I'm trying to avoid fat, fried stuff in general, not chicken nuggets specifically.

The good thing about these is that not only do they taste great, you can bake them in the oven too instead of frying them and they are basically pure protein balls, perfect for lifting. Fuck you man, now I want some.

Obviously veggies are the best option, but they just don't compare to deep fried chunks of pink slime dipped in corn syrup. there has to be a happy medium for the guy. What about a vegetarian pizza made with a whole grain base and farmhouse cheese?

>> No.5087891

Buy whey protein. Make a shake and drink that. Look up how much protein you usually get from your usual serving of chicken nuggets and replace it with that. That should keep you just as full although you'll be done with your meal a lot faster so you'll need to wait a while longer til your body registers that you've had food.

Salami, cheese, and crackers.

Maybe some nice olives or pickles to go with them.

Well, lean protein is definitely the best thing to eat before bed to help you sleep through the night. What about baked chicken tenders, without breading, but sauced with buffalo sauce, or seasoned with lemon pepper and garlic? Or as someone else suggested, hummus, or cashew "cheese" (which is more like a dip anyway) with carrots, celery and cucumber slices (which would also add fiber to keep you satiated through the night). I, myself, take a fiber supplement before bed, because I get hungry at night and that keeps me from being hungry.

>> No.5087915

How? A boiled egg, lean sausage meat and breadcrumbs baked in the oven, that is a hell of a lot healthier than pink slime slathered in batter and then deep fried.

So you are saying that everything has only a single way of being cooked? Guy, you are a fucking moron.

Also, what is so funny about lean sausage meat? A scotch egg is the ultimate workout food if you do it properly, but apparently you only have to say an items name and it's cooking method is set in stone,

There are two things wrong with your post. First, baked bacon on a rack to keep it above the grease is the superior way to cook bacon if you are cooking more than two slices. Second, you can get crispy bacon from a microwave if you cook it long enough. Although, anybody who uses a high wattage microwave should shoot themselves. High wattage microwaves leave shit burnt on the outside and fucked up/cold in the middle. Pic related.

>> No.5088726

>>5088637
45 sec/strip is too short if you use a proper-wattage microwave. You may need to bump it to 1:10 per strip to get it crispy.
