Congrats, you had anchovies for the first time last night and wanted to tell us all about it.

Why not anchovies (the good kind, some are baddddd) and also roasted red pepper and some salumi?

Watch that fedora as you step through the door there, junior. You got any extravagant scotch purchases to tell us about too, which I'm sure you tested with your 20-year-old palate?

naw, just had a particularly good one last night
>>4993312
that also sounds delcious. anchovy would still be the key ingredient tying it all together though.

>> No.4993318

I had anchovies once, it was salty as fuck. Didn't help that the cheese it's sitting on is already a bit salty.

Good anchovies packed in oil, and drained and rinsed, shouldn't be a problem and should be accounted for by not over salting the rest of the pizza. Also grilled fresh sardines are delicious. Oily fish are under appreciated in formal american cooking.

you gotta get it on a good margherita style pizza. that way it's not overhwelmed by salty cheese.

Cut him some slack... he wasn't getting any attention on reddit thus he came here.

Pizza is an Italian dish, and Italy fishes quite a bit. The starfish is a fish that can regrow entirely from a small part. You can pretty much cut it up, and it will regrow entirely.

I think it's supposed to encourage frugal or responsible fishing practices.

I get anchovies every time. Go to a local place because dominos and the like don't serve anchovies. My wife and kids don't like it. They don't even like the smell. This means nobody takes pieces of my pizza. Good times.

I think it's sad that you see your wife and kids as chumps or roommates. Your home isn't a frat house.

Yes it is. You have no idea about my home life.

It's sad or it's a frat house?

The other posts aren't me. I take it you're not familiar with humor. I'm not sure how you relate people not liking anchovies to a frat house, but it's all good, each to his own. Are you somehow under the impression that I only order one pizza and eat it myself? Then I can see your point, but to liken my pizza choices to living in a fraternity isn't accurate.......or maybe it is. Does everyone in there like anchovies?

And my kids aren't chumps or roommates, the oldest two are young men.....but the two little ones are akin to Typhoid Mary, bringing home every virus from preschool. Plus the second I have food they're like sharks smelling blood in the water, it doesn't matter that they have the same thing on their plate, they're not going to touch their food. Somehow mine is better. Maybe that's a roommate situation, I wouldn't know.

OP knows what's up. Nothing can beat a good Pizza Napoletana with fresh anchovies.

>> No.4995306

I have never had anchovies on a pizza. I'd like to try them at some point, but pizza is a communal dish and I don't know anyone that likes them.

The worst I've heard is that they taste like some variety of super salt and the ocean.

I'm still intrigued though. I like sardines.

My local dominos do anchovies. I love them, just not on pizza. They overpower the flavour of everything else.

>> No.4995325

I had anchovies in a tin once and they were really salty, like eating a salt lick salty, and the little bones bothered me.

I hope I just had a bad tin and real anchovies aren't riddled with tiny bones and that salty

Those anchovies have been added after the pizza was cooked instead of at the beginning. Just saying. Just feeling.

>> No.4995374

Needs meat, and they need to be added prior to cooking.

The general idea is for the anchovies to melt and just add lots of delicious glutamates.
