You can trace nigger food directly back to their southern roots, and the fact that slaves were permitted to keep their own small plots to feed themselves. Slaves would raise chickens because it is easy to do so on small plots of land, and when you aren't eating them they give you eggs for free.

There are well-documented historical reasons why niggers eat nigger food.

But there are no explanaitions as far as I know for why white people have to put everything into a casserole.

But for a more serious answer, I think it stems from back during wwII / cold war era when people were using a lot more canned ingredients, they would have to make the best of it.

That said, I agree. The generation that was coming of age in the 50's and 60's was raised to embrace the WOW SO TECHNOLOGICAL PROGRESS SO MODERN way of doing things. We have them to thank for most of our traditional casserole recipes and also things like microwave cookbooks.

The only nigger dish I know is from my grandma who grew up in the deep south. The only name she has for the dish is "nigger potatoes", so that's what I call them.

Skin some potatoes and cut them up into a size that you think is good.
Also cut up some onion
Put them in a pot and add water until they are just covered
Add salt, pepper, and celery seed
Add butter (1/6 stick of butter per potato)
Bring the water to a boil
Reduce heat and simmer covered for about half an hour.

In the end you wind up with like a sort of creamy potato thing with big soft chunks of potato in it. It's like mashed potatoes only better.

i think it actually has alot to do with marketing. as gender roles started to shift and pre-made food stuffs took on a larger role in the american kitchen, marketers pushed all sorts of recipes that used certain products.

so many white casserole recipes start with or feature canned condense soups, processed cheese stuffs, or other supermarket junk.

Casseroles and hotdish were born out of the large influx of European - mostly German and Scandinavian to the midwest.
