My favorites include:

Baked potato with butter, sour cream, and chives.
Broccoli. Steamed.
Asparagus. Sauteed or grilled.
Grilled onion. Just half an onion tossed on the grill with a touch of oil.
Mushrooms.
Twice baked potatoes.
Roasted potatoes.

Baked Yam
Specifically, twice baked garlic and onion yam.

1) take yams, brush with olive oil and salt
2) stick in microwave for 3 minutes while you preheat the oven to 400F
3) when they finish, wrap them in foil and dump them in the hot oven for 30 minutes
4) while this is happening, saute some onions and garlic in butter on the stove top.
5) when the yams finish, cut them in half and let them cool for a bit, then mash up the insides a little with a fork.
6) apply buttery onions and garlic from pan, and put the potatoes back in for another 15-20 minutes.
7) Now, use your pan to sear your steak. You used a cast iron pan, right?
8) season and sear your steak however you like, then pop it in the oven to finish next to the yams.
9) put some sour cream in a little bowl or something, and chop up some green onions.
10) when everything is done, plate it, and apply the green onions to the yams, and the sour cream if you want.

By the time you're done eating the yams, your steak should be done resting and ready to eat. Or you can wait for the yams to cool a little and eat them both at the same time if you're a pussy.

I've never met a vegan/vegetarian in real life that behaves like the ones you met on 4chan, I have met the douche bag vegan that tries to push their agenda onto the omnivore and just got bored shitless with their reasoning.
Do vegans/vegetarians really think people that eat meat want to go out and inflict pain on animals?
I know where my meat comes from and how it goes to the slaughter, if I were in any doubt I would not buy their product.
I do love animals but humans are part of the food chain just like a lion or shark and this will not change in our lifetime no matter how many plants you eat.

Not the poster you're responding to, but to be fair, it depends on the quality of the sauce. People who tend to dislike any sort of sauce on their steak at all are usually people who've never had a really great steak experience. I order steak often when I go out, but there are some restaurants that I wouldn't order it with any sort of additions, because they don't do a good sauce. Know what I mean, jellybean?
