let me spell this out for you since you're a rather dim bulb. the reason lox appears to be a "jewish" word is that most jews in the US immigrated from parts of europe where "lachs/lax/lachse" or some variant thereof is just the word for salmon in the local language. because of jewish deli culture, "lox" became synonymous with jewish people in those places.

it's common on /ck/ for someone to suggest that lox is in fact a "jewish" word, quickly followed by someone from eastern europe getting mad because of, I guess, latent antisemitism combined with that phenomenon where people from small irrelevant* countries get butthurt when they feel they're not being given sufficient recognition.
