/ck/, i value your opinion. Is Dominos something that i should eat? I really enjoy their pizza but is it fake disgusting shit? i've always noticed their cheese isnt stringy like normal mozarella should be... have i been getting tricked all these years

please tell me it's not so bad

>> No.4697136

Dominos is my favorite fast food pizza chain. Their crust is the best out of all the chains and the toppings are decent quality.

Doesn't really stand up to some of the local joints but the price is right.

>> No.4697181

>>4697136
ok that's one, any other opinions?

>> No.4697188

Their sauce is way, way too sweet for me to stand.

>> No.4697186

It's crap, you can get something better from a local spot for more, it's for people to lazy to find somewhere decent or cook.

Just my opinion, man. Chain pizza is shit, Papa John's is what I'll go to just to drown out the nasty with garlic butter.

If you go to fast food chains, sure.
Pizza express isn't a fast food chain, it's a restaurant chain.

I have many independent pizza places near me that are abject shit that do no more than mimic fast food chains with worse/frozen ingredients.

Ah I gotcha. I'm spoiled in NYC, but every city I've lived in most local joints can beat the chains - assuming of course they're not just doing chain type shit like you said.

What I know about dominoes from having friends work there:

All crusts arrive frozen.
Almost all toppings are canned, but otherwise real.
Cheese is real.
Crust has a butter-garlic mixture painted on it.
Pizzas are made in <1 minute and cooked in <5 at 500F.

>> No.4697323

>>4697308
What I know from being a domino's CSR and Assistant manager:

>Crusts arrive chilled and still in dough balls. All crusts are proofed at the store and stretched when needed

>Only canned toppings are diced tomatoes and red peppers. Everything else is bagged. Only the pizza cheese (the 'mozarella') is frozen

>Yes, it's real cheese, but very low standard stuff.

>Affirmative. Shit smells really bad, too. Not like garlic at all. Does make it taste better though.

>The average is 2 minutes and we bake at 480 for seven minutes. The numbres youve listed are the recommended settings for the secondary oven, but no store ever uses those, just setting both ovens to the same temp to handle the rush.

If you want my opinion, OP, then for the price Domino's is the way to go.

And dont forget that today has a carryout deal for a large three topping pizza for 7.99.
Also half off if you order online (dont use the app, its busted).
And if you want two pizzas, mention "a fundraiser card" for a buy one get one free deal for two large pizzas. When they ask for the coupon code, tell them it's [8060].

Any other questions?

>> No.4697328

>>4697308
That's nice to know.

I prefer Dominos over pizza hut.

My favorite pizza is 'San Genarros'. It's in Bristol, CT.

Over brick baked pizza. Everything is made right in the customers eyes. The use fresh crushed tomatoes off the shelf that are well seasoned as the sauce. And the cheese is just delicious.

OP, I prefer pizza hut lunch buffet.

I make all my pizzas at home, except for once every couple weeks, or months, i will head out to pizza hut for their unlimited lunch buffet. it is a vast wonderland of gluttony that I frolic in once in a while, and one of my only culinary indulgences. For 5.99 it is unbeatable and nothing dominos makes touches it. The pizza is super fresh because it was made in the store, and you are at the store eating it, and the hords of people atatcking the bufffet means no pizza sits there longer than 10 minutes or so.

and the bread sticks.. the unlimited bread sticks and SAUCE. oh god.

oh god.

oh god.

it's so good...

>> No.4697369

Pretty much this.

I have no fantasies about hand-tossed crusts or artisan baked pizzas, fresh dough, fresh ingredients, or anything really fantastic or whimsical.

Dominos onions are foul. I like just about everything else they do.

IMHO--
Dominos=McDonalds
Pizza Hut=Burger King
Papa Johns=Wendys
Lil' Caesars=White Castle

There are other chains, but I think you get the general gist of what I'm saying in terms of at least the quality of the food.

>> No.4697371

>>4697361
The bacon's alright.

Because it's of such a low standard of quality that it's more appropriate to throw it into a large grouping just called 'cheese'.

Just the opposite. Carryout means you pick it up. Delivery is.. delivery.

>> No.4697372

>>4697129
>Fake
The pizza crust is an oven-baked, flat, disc-shaped bread.
The sauce is a cooked mixture of tomato and spices.
The cheese is a food product produced by coagulation of the milk protein casein; specifically, the mild white Italian cheese that has a rubbery texture known as "Mozzarella".
The toppings, too, are exactly what they say they are.

It is a "real" pizza, and that's all that's required for it to be a "real" pizza. I wish people would stop using "real" as a buzzword for "fresh" or "hand-made" or whatever else they consider to be a good thing in foods.

As for the pizza, it's alright. A bit boring. It's clearly industrial pizza, but it's not that bad. I've had pizzas that were worse.

>> No.4697434

Dominos aint to bad I guess

The bacon rashers are shit though

I ordered a pizza, put some in the fridge because I'm not a fucking pig and going to eat an entire pizza for a single meal

Eat it cold (I usually do this with pizza and it tastes fucking great) but the bacon rashers just turned to shit. Not literally, but they tasted like shit

Dominos is my favorite chain pizza, is bretty good. It used to be shitty but they changed everything a couple years ago and made it completely edible. My favorite is an XL Brooklyn style (not legit, but best crust) with pepperoni, mushroom, and jalapeno. Their deals are good too. Avoid the bread bowl pastas. Not sure about the sandwiches. Wings are aight, pricey but alot better than they were awhile back.

>> No.4698551

when i feel like cheap pizza, i always either get dominos or papa murphys

dominos cheesy bread is awesome, but the overall taste/quality isn't fantastic and delivery is expensive when you include a decent tip

dominos is also the only place i've ever ordered from where a delivery driver bitched me out for not tipping enough--$2 on a $14 order (~15%), which i thought was plenty generous considering 1) he brought me the wrong side order and when i asked if he could go back and get what i ordered he just shrugged, and 2) it took 30 minutes to go from pizza out of the oven to my door even though i lived 2 blocks away from their store at the time.

some old loser trying to convince me that if i tip less than $3, he makes less than minimum wage and that i'm breaking the rules of our social contract and shit. fuck off bitch nigga, lucky i didn't knee him in the fucking kidney and push him down the stairs.

>> No.4698567

>>4698551
Fuck that nigger. $2 is fine assuming you really live that close to the place. If he had to drive more than ten mins then you're a dick. How much do Dominos drivers get paid hourly anyway? I know they charge a delivery fee, they should just give the drivers the delivery fee and pay them min wage, then any tip would be an added bonus paying for gas and shit.

Sort of related, when I was driving I did a few $500+ deliveries and got a $5 tip. One time I did a $2000 delivery and got $0. Fuck it.
