You are aware that most of the bitterness comes from the coffee and cocoa added to the beer, not so much the hops? Perhaps you should steer clear of coffee/chocolate stouts/porters, because they clearly aren't your forte. Stick with the sweeter milk stouts.

It's delicious and I put it up there with Double Pecan Porter (being a Texasfag) as my favorite porters. I tried Southern Tier Creme Brulee last night with my gf...OK now this is a beer that would be worth of pouring down a drain if you tried to drink the entire bottle alone.
