Can I microwave a foil-wrapped chipotle burrito?

I am at work, and I have a chipotle chicken fajito burrito wrap monster here that I left in the fridge overnight. It is unopened and still in it's originaly packing foil. I have microwaved metal things before with bad consequences (arcing, fires, etc), but that was on old microwaves? My roommate assures me that if it doesn't touch the sides of the microwave it will be OK.

Can I toss this baby into the microwave without ill effect?

If I don't leave the foil on, how the hell am I supposed to eat it? From a plate with a fork? Holding it so it can explode all over my office? Both=gay.

You're smart enough to work in an office (which doesn't mean much, really), but you're not smart enough to know the common knowledge that you can't put metal in the microwave.

UPDATE
I put the whole mess into the microwave and set it to one minute. After about 5 seconds it started shooting sparks everywhere. That was actually pretty interesting, so I let it go on for a few more seconds before I hit stop.

I unwrapped it and nuked it. That worked. And it is mmmmm good.

Recap: When reheating chipotle burritos, do not, I repeat, Do Not leave the foil on.

You're a fucking retard. I hope your boss sees this and you lose your job for being a fucking retard.

Bullshit, a burrito enclosed in aluminum foil won't heat in a microwave, the waves won't ever reach it, and even an unwrapped burrito won't heat in a few seconds.
Also, I doubt the surface of the size of a burrito size can create enough potential from microwaves for sparks to fly. Your magnetron on the other hand would get fucked after a few minutes of microwaves bouncing back to it.

Some commercial microwaves will take metal
At culinary school we had one & could microwave metal bowls but using metal in a store bought, meant for home use microwave is a bad idea
Just common sense

No, it has to be thing metal like foil. A spoon will not make sparks.

Everyone needs to experience the rite of passage that is to learn through experience that putting foil in microwave results in sparks.

This is true. A&W wraps their burgers in a tin foil. I forgot one time because the outside of the foil doesn't look metal at all. I put it in the microwave and was just about to walk away when I started seeing flashing lights from the microwave. No harm was done...

>> No.4605146

"Can I microwave a foil-wrapped" not unless you want to destroy the microwave., and it goes zizzt in the process. most unwise. sigh. I am the worlds worse. stuff like fish fillets etc but you probably don't want to do that.
