Mozzarella is tasteless and has shit texture.

Why the fuck does it exist?

>> No.4597427

Like swiss, it's only good when melted.

>> No.4597431

If your mozzarella has no taste then you're buying crappy mozzarella. I'm guessing you're buying a cow's milk version instead of the real thing (Buffalo milk).

It is probably the blandest cheese in the world anyway.

salt it?

>> No.4597480

isn't that the whole point of it? like on pizza if you used a stronger cheese it would overpower everything else

>> No.4597483

buy less shitty mozzarella

its a mild cheese as intended, but it certainly isn't fucking tasteless.

Agreed. I have only had Buffalo Mozzarella once, but it was the most glorious fucking thing I have ever eaten on a pizza

>> No.4597518

Shitty quality. Mozzarella texture is usually pleasant but sometimes they fuck up and still sell it. Bad Mozzarella is usually too soggy / spongy. Also, good Mozzarella has god-like taste. But maybe it doesn't contain enough MSG and chili four you.

>> No.4597524

>>4597518

Even for good mozarella you have to look at the best before date to check if it hasn't been sitting too long in the shelves. That's often the reason when buffalo mozzarella gets soft in my experience.

Try fresh mozzarella with a sweet balsamic reduction.

CAPRESE MOTHAFUCKA

>> No.4597538

The mozzarella I have has a very very subtle flavour. It tastes creamy and I enjoy the strange texture.

I use it 99% of the time for pizzas though. Eating it "uncooked" as it were, I think, would make me a little queasy. It's a little heavy and soggy to be eaten by itself.

protip I think next time you may want to place the mushroom/mozzarella combo in a grill or oven.

Is it supposed to be like that? When I eat mozz by itself, it's never soggy. Moist, but not uncomfortably...

As an Italian I disagree, but I agree that there is better cheese.

Mozzarella is good for typical sandwiches and grilled cheese.

>> No.4601350

It's not tasteless, but it's not as flavorful as other cheeses. This makes it ideal for areas where cheese is a topping but not necessarily the main ingredient. Most pizzas tend to use mozzarella as the main cheese because it is less overpowering. As a man who once made a pizza entirely with cheddar, I can assure you that powerful flavor is not the best in all situations.

Not the best cheese tho. Muenster is still at the top for me.
