What are the best resturants / food chains there?

This, though I can understand if you can't get fast food like this in Yurop.

Cali has good Mexican food. Keep your eyes open for a taco truck and get yourself a fish taco.

In N Out is good compared to fast food class restaurants (think McDonalds, Burger King, Carls. Jr), but it loses out to sit down class restaurants like BJ's, Chile's, Fuddruckers, Red Robin, Tommy's, etc.

Out of those places I mentioned, my favorite is Tommy's, so I recommend you try it if it's in the area your visiting.

Seconded.

In-N-Out is great for what it is. I thought the prices were cheap (comparable to McDonald's), and the food seemed honest and fresh. It wasn't trying to be gourmet. It's just a classic burger and fries. Nothing more or less.

I think the appeal is, "Why go to McDonald's when I can pay the same price at In-N-Out and have better food and service?"

To make matters worse, the big chains hire the absolute dredges of society. They hire warm bodies that will do the minimum of their job description, and pay them a minimum wage. That's the only reason I need to not eat fast food.

If a good, honest, hard-working Christian family opened a McDonald's nearby with the promise of improving service, and relying less on the heat lamps and food warmers, then I'd probably eat at McDonald's occasionally. The food's seriously not that bad if you go to a good one.

sooooo much ethnic food along venice blvd and along that area
cuban, ethopean, botswanian, finnish, canadian, venezualan, cajun, russian, tiawanese etc etc etc

for quality american tacos, go to the tacoshop "tito's tacos" super famous. for good mexican tacos go to any other taqueria.

Rallys burgers is amazing greasy fastfood, they have a menu thats like 2 awesome items from small chillicheese dogs $2, two fo $3 deals, $4 deals, 2 bacon double chillie swisscheese burger for $6 deals...

along venice blvd there was this taqueria that sold a 3lb burrito for 8dollars flat. i think its like all the extra bad cuts of everything, but its great for when you havent eaten all day... fuckers give me like 2 cups of salsa to go with it. not those little plastic cup things, but like actual 8oz cup

honestly id say skip fastfood all together.. aside from in-and-out just to let you know what fastfood can be like without all the msg and crap... but even then the line there is soo long it is NOT fast food

In N Out is good, by far the best for fast food. It's not the best I've ever had, but it's cheap and very very good (everything is pretty much fresh). Although if I had to recommend a time, go somewhere in the afternoon at like 1pm-3pm, it's packed the entire day otherwise. It's always the busiest from 5-10pm.

Adalberto's is a great Mexican place with about 10 locations if you are going to the Sacramento area, theres plenty of Adalberto's rip offs too though, while all might not be bad, I've been to some that were bad as compared to the 4 different Adalberto I've went to they are all good. Besides, theres plenty of normal good Mexican restaurants around here that it's hard to look for a particular one. Just look up the ones nearest to where you are going and check ratings/reviews and you are bound to find a few that people like. Also, taco trucks are plentiful and can be worth trying too since they can be good also. >>4409377 Can't really recommend anything else though, live alot further north. But yeah just make sure you get some Mexican food, it would be stupid to pass up the opportunity while here. I mean there's lots of other food thats good here but Mexican is probably the best in this state.

In-n-out is good, because it resembles local non-chain burger joints. For a good cheeseburger and fries, no-one can really compete against In-n-out in large chains. However, all chains are usually inferior to local burger joints, because local burger joints usually get their meat from local smallish farming communities. So, if the choice is between a local burger joint and In-n-out, choose the local joint. If the choice is between In-n-out and any other chain burgers, choose In-n-out.

Since you'll be in California, head to the coastline and look for fish markets. They'll usually have sushi or steak shops located nearby that get all their produce fresh from the fishermen. It'll be expensive, but properly cut, cooked, or prepared fresh fish is worth its weight in gold.

Also, please understand that eating our freedom fries or cheeseburgers makes you an American by proxy. If that doesn't sit well with you, you'll need to finish off the cheeseburger with a shot of communist vodka. You'll get a bit of gas from the force annihilation, but you'll be back to being a Eurofag.

If barbeque isn't readily available where you live, I would try a few places. Most have sandwiches that are good but ribs are where its at.

avoid mcdonalds if possible, but I ate it when I was in cali

If you have time, drive to vegas. Even 2 days in vegas is dope and if you go to east vegas at night, by the stratosphere hotel there is a gas station and a liqour store across the street, you can get drugs really easily. Just ask someone for drugs.
