Yeah, I've known people who love 'em and who hate 'em. I personally love olives/brine, and having a regular martini wasn't really my thing. Of course, maybe he was using crap vermouth. I dunno... yesterday was my first martini experience.

I also like trying out different beers and adding them to my dishes (just used a darker beer in a chili recipe I'm developing... so cash.) It pisses me off when other people are just like, "Honey, you're supposed to drink it. You're wasting it."

It's different for everyone. Some people get physically addicted just like a drug, I'd imagine.

For me getting drunk can be a form of psychological escapism, not from some traumatic event, but just from everyday life.

Other times it's just fun to drink with friends.

Anybody want to dump the alcohol charts? Specifically the tequila one.

I bought a new tequila and bourbon last weekend and while I love the bourbon but I'm not normally a tequila person, so I just went with the liquor store guys recommendation. I'm curious if it's also on the chart.

I think also adding a do not buy tier would be a smart move as well. I made the mistake of buying Jim Beam once back when I got into drinking bourbon. I still regret it.

Twenty-seven in a few months. I got the worst of my drinking done prior to legal age. Some good times, some bad times. Toward the end of high school I'd developed an affinity for wine and whiskey. To deter from excess consumption and spending I don't buy often but I'm not concerned with overspending for something like a single malt.

I can't into gin like I do whiskey. Especially gin and tonics. But Bombay Sapphire has grown on me and I do like to throw an extra olive in my dry martinis. They're definitely drinkable! Manhattans too if you've a taste for whiskey. Good on you for cooking with brew, too. Not enough people do it and it's a shame when it can work well for chilli, barbecue, seafood, baking, cheese dips/spreads and so much more.

>>4258016
A former friend of mine who I'm rather certain has suffered less than myself (and I've never had it that bad) developed a terribly addictive personality somewhere along the way. I can't explain or understand the mindset myself but it feels like a slap in the face every time they wanna dump half your $60 bottle of tequila you just purchased into a jug of orange juice just for themselves, smoke up your pot you shared and then demand you smoke more - complaining they want to be higher and so on.

>>4258143
I've only do stuff like this anymore on vacations with friends and it is still fun. Last time was in Ocean City, MD just before the spring season (still too cold to swim and such). We'd bar crawl and act a fool all night, wake up the next morning and if I had a hangover I'd get a light meal and a big bloody mary and my game-face would be back on. Wish I could remember the name of the one restaurant; they served a Crab Imperial Cheeseburger that was probably the best I've ever tasted whilst drunk.

It's cheaper than cheapest whisky here, (though rather upper range for vodkas).

I have yet to find a golden-colored vodka that fails me.

Gorzka Żołądkowa (traditional, not the new inventions like mint or clear) - great tasting, somewhat (lightly) herbal but sweet. Not like throat-twisting Beherovka. A middle-shelf, traditional taste.

Hazelnut-flavored Soplica - whoa, more hazelnut taste than real hazelnuts! Not for serious, long drinking but good once in a while and the taste is really funny, *feel like drunk squirrel*, middle shelf.

Krupnik - Honey and grain, rye I think. You'd never think grain can give anything such a nice taste. Fields in summer. Upper shelf.

Miodówka - honey, plain. Nothing exquisite but way better than "clear". Middle-to-lower shelf.

Even cheap, bottom-shelf Balsam Pomorski. Tastes like a mix of Bison Grass and herbal like Gorzka. Quite palatable for something of that price.

You avatarfag on /r9k/, okay, but keep it that way.
Cooks are not more effeminate at all. It's a high-stress job so there's little time for wishy-washy crybaby stuff in the middle of nowhere.
Your posts have nothing to do with cooking, and you admitted you came here cause you thought people would be "more effeminate" and to "help you with your emotions".
You should see a psychiatrist instead.
Also, disagreeing with you and telling you to stay on topic is NOT autism.
