They need to get 'told' by Ramsay because that is what the people that scout these places out look for. A show about a restaurant thats only failing because of its wait staff would make for a short show. And a lot of what they look for are people who got into the restaurant business as a hobby, as something fun to do, without really seeing that they were investing in a business that can suck money away in a very fast fashion.

That's because they're managers, not talent.
Those who can do, those who can't, administrate, those who can't administrate, teach.

The American version is a bunch of shit compared to the UK version. It's like almost every little aspect is different for added drama. Those stupid fucking sound effects they play, the dire music, Ramsay yelling and swearing every second.

He really comes off as such a nice guy on the UK episodes but it's debatable on the American ones. It makes me kind of sad to be an Amerifat, like what does this say about the population? Nothing good.

He doesn't know shit about anything else other than cooking so a good chunk of it is him trying to turn the place into a pub, with the chef suddenly going "YES CHEF YES CHEF" and the manager standing there not doing anything while Gordon tells him to be the boss even though the chef seems to got it under control so the managr just stands there awkwardly because Gordon is telling him to do that shit
