You should only eat fast food if there is literally no other place open and you are juat visiting the city. People who eat fast food for any other reason are losers. McDonalds is some of the worst food on the planet.

For that price you can go to the super market, buy fresh bread, cheese and ham and have more food that is both healthier and tastier. There is no reason to ever eat fast food if a super mariet is open.

What are your favourite alternatives to fast food?

They have a drive thru, so you don't have to stop your trip. It's in the name. Fast food. It's the fastest way to get food, unless you need gas. Then it's faster to get food at the gas station when you fill your tank.

I drive daily for a living and sometimes there's good deals on the app depending on your region. I've seen $1 egg mcmuffins, $1 large fries, two double cheeseburgers for $2.50. You can't eat fast food without using apps. The price does beat the supermarket at times, and like I said it's worth it if you drive daily.

The amount of time and personal effort that it takes for me to make a meal has the effect of disincentivizing having a meal at all. Those ingredients will sit until I run out of processed food to eat - I will go through all my cereal before cooking a single item outside of the microwave, for instance.

Call me a loser, I can't care until you show me how a loser such as myself can actually APPRECIATE all this added effort and time for a product that doesn't give me much more happiness or healthiness just because the meal is notably tastier and more satisfying.

There are a lot of butchers, bakers and super markets where you can get ready made food as fast if not faster than at a fast food place. All it takes is getting out of the car and going into the store. Takes like 5m tops and you have your meal.

>>20369793
True, fast food offers some convenience when traveling. But still, you could simply buy some food that you can take with you when you do your weekly grocery shopping. If you compare store brought food with special offers you should take special offers in the super markets into account too.

>>20369803
If you are too lazy to spend 3 minutes on making a couple sandwiches you aren't hungry. That's a good way to control how much you eat.
Making your own food is no effort at all. You can easily do it in the time it takes you to get in your car, drive to the fast food place, order and get back home. Even if you get your fast food on your daily commute you could simply spend that time on preparing food when you are home. If you cook enough food at once to last you two or three days you come out ahead in time and most definitely in money saved.

Burgers usually take me at least 5 minutes to cook two at a time, and that's assuming I have my kitchen clean enough to start (usually but less on two workshift days) and I have the ingredients ready. I actually usually don't even have meat in the house unless its frozen, and obviously thawing burger patties is more than a few minutes.

Anyway, I can actually say that I need to have not eaten for over... 12-18 hours to really have the drive to get sandwhich bread out, get out the different meat and cheese packets (if I have them), assemble a sandwhich, and put it all back, and not be mad at myself for the mess I've made in the process.

Hell, I find driving to be so mentally taxing that I minimize it, so I rarely have the opportunity to get drive-thru food.
I eat a lot of nuts, breads, dried fruits, dried and cured meats, along with more processed food.

But the actual work is done in less than 10s. Literally just move the meat from the freezer to the fridge. Put it in a bowl if you want to be fancy.

>cook burgers
Make something else then. There is lots of stuff you can make in batches.

>mess of making sandwiches
One dirty knife and one dirty plate? I'm having a hard time understanding what even your problem is. Besides being obese in spirit.

Severely limited attention span is probably the biggest single thing, which I've decided to try and treat unmedicated for some time (meds are effective but addictive).

Like when I list out those steps in making a sandwich, it isn't uncommon for me for to go do something else and get back to the sandwich some minutes later. Repeatedly.
I mentioned cereal because it's immediate accessibility from the bag is SO satisfying that it kills my desire to make oatmeal or any more involved breakfast.

And yeah one dirty knife and plate is a problem when I tend to forget about the plate and kitchen once the sandwhich is consumed. Have to make sure it goes in the dishwasher or else I could misplace it nearly any other room.

And that's why I don't eat there. Who has the time to WALK into a restaurant to get food? I commute 1 hour plus to my job in human resources, and most days I don't even leave work until almost 5:30! If the traffic is bad, like it usually is, I am forced to get drive thru and eat on the way home. I get home about 6:30, which gives me only 30 minutes to clear my subs moderation queue, update twitter and linkedin, and feed the furbabies before the clan raid at 7pm EST, which takes up to two hours, leaving me only an hour of personal time to catch some netflix before sleep. I will probably sleep in tomorrow AGAIN which means a mad rush to work, with a mcgriddle breakfast on the way. And then (ugh) tomorrows endocrinologist appointment at 12pm, which means I have no time for lunch, I will have to grab something fast on the way back to work.
There just isn't enough time in the day to cook and eat healthy foods! I am TOO BUSY.

kek maybe true a decade ago. now you have to pull in to the drive-thru, be told to hang on for 5 minutes before you can order, then sit at the window with your engine off for 15 minutes while they remember how to cook your food. then there's the inevitable 15 minute argument and subsequent manager-involved fiasco afterwards about how "nothing" is not a suitable replacement for the large fry you ordered and you want what you ordered
all that for the affordable price of: the same you'd pay if you ordered carry-out at a local burger place, except you'd probably have gotten out of the local burger place and into your car again faster

If making a sandwich costs more for you than ordering one from McDonalds, you have a few problems:

1) You're probably stupid - Many community colleges offer remedial classes for a reduced cost, or even for free. Once your math skills are up to the challenge of basic addition and subtraction, you should check to see if a sandwich is still more expensive.

2) There are probably a lot of brown people near you - You should move out of LA.
