I used to wage slave at dunkin donuts and I would make my own chocolate milk. I'd add like 3 scoops of whatever hot chocolate powder I wanted into a large cup of whole milk and use the milk steamer on our espresso maker, the same way we would make our chai latte. Definitely the most frothy and creamy hot chocolate I've ever had

my parents made me sit at the dinner table every night until I finished my milk. I would get yelled at, they would turn all the lights off and go to bed, the milk would get warm and even more disgusting, etc. If I vomited they would still make me finish it. They did this for 10 fucking years until they mentioned my poor behavior to my doctor who immediately said "you realize he might be lactose intolerant?" "wut".

Yeah no dairy milk for me ever fucking again. I can handle some cheese most of the time, but milk just sits in my stomach for like 36 hours and I can't eat.

Blend up oats and water, leave it to sit in the fridge overnight, strain through basic mesh strainer or cheesecloth. Boom! Done.

Yeah, so? They're oats. It's good for you. You better not throw out the strained solids either.

Well it's not crazy hard, but the cost of ingredients, plus time, plus the fact that your home oat milk will have a shelf life of like 4 days rather than the pasteurized stuff just doesn't make it worth it. I buy 1.5L for like $4. I ain't buying piles of oats and filters and shit just to have it go off within a week. I just don't drink enough of it. If I was having a bowl of cereal, a coffee, and cheeky hot choccy every day maybe but I don't do that

I like it strong and bitter with chili. The buzz is like espresso, but euphoric and soul-warming. Imbibe it prior to love-making!

For two servings
>1/3 cup baking cocoa
>1 1/4 cup boiling water
>2 tbs grated piloncillo (sub dark brown sugar)
>1/8 tsp kosher salt
>1 tsp ancho or chipotle chili powder
>optional 1/2 tsp cinnamon or 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Mix dry ingredients, pour over boiling water, stir. Let steep for 3 minutes, then pour back & forth between two containers to aerate and develop a foamy head. Serve warm.

Usually orally. Usually.

Add a little oil to the oats and mix it by hand before the water. Improves taste and texture of the oat milk. It will still suck, tho. Cuz it's oat milk. And oat milk sucks.
>>20351731
Use superfine mesh, like a chinois.
>>20351734
Oats don't go off in a week. With the barest minimum of planning (as in simply putting that shit to soak the night before), you can have fresh, cold oat milk for pennies. A kg/2lbs of oats makes 10 litres/quarts of oatmilk and only costs $2-3US vs $20-30 for the same amount of shopbought.
My brother is a faggot IE vegan who, despite earning well into the six figures and living in one of the wealthiest parts of the US bitches about money a lot. His wife doesn't work, he's got his jeep and whatever that other car is to maintain, high ass property tax and he wasted money on food a lot. I told my SiL how to make oat milk and she does that now. That saves them a couple hundred dollars per year. Not a lot in the grand scheme of things, especially compared to their $10k+ property tax bill, but it's still saving something and every little bit helps. And idk and you but for me, my missus and my SiL, we get pleasure eating/drinking things we made.
>>20351080
srsly, tho, I melt Hershey's special dark in s double boiler then whisk in 1:1 mix of half-and-half and whole milk, hot.
First time my son had hot cocoa from a powder, he retched. We stopped in at a coffee shop to warm up after playing in the snow and I got him a hot chocolate.

My point was that you don't need specialty equipment to make oat milk.

I didn't consider the possibility that someone might think of superfine mesh as specialty equipment but I see your point in that. Just a strainer, then.

Dear Anon, you might have narcissistic or neglectful parents. Look into it, because it could be the answer to some mental problems you may have (you're on 4chan, let's not beat around the bush). Mine made me sit at the table alone for hours crying until I finished my plate. Most of the times it had adult portions of veggies and meat and my mother couldn't cook for shit.
