>Is everything better home made?
Yes, no, and maybe.

depends on what it it, how long it takes, and who makes it.

I can make an apple pie as good or better than sara lee (or some other brand). but the amount of effort for what I get is not worth it. their pie is better because of convenience.

Steak? sometimes better at home, sometimes better at a restaurant.

Mexican food? almost always better at a restaurant. I've been making enchiladas, tacos, tamales, etc for over 40 years. My tacos are as good (or better) as any I can get at a restaurant. My enchiladas not as good. My burritos sometimes better, sometimes not. My tamales are damn good but such a pain in the ass to make, I found a some at costco that are good enough.

Indian food? I cannot make it better than an indian restaurant.

Thai? better at a restaurant.

Chinese and Japanese? better at a restaurant.

subs? better at a restaurant.

Salads? always better at restaurants.

Yeah, I've made burritos at home and they taste better to me than any restaurant.

Maybe it's a taste thing, but I'm pretty sure with even a week of practice i could 1-up any dish from a restaurant.

I'm looking to replicate a specific taste in my burritos that so far eludes me. 2 restaurants in my life have made burritos that are the best I have ever had, and both went out of business before I could replicate their chili sauce.

I like all the burritos I make, but sometimes don't feel like making them.

after several attempts at making curries (which were good) but a lot of work. I would rather get them from my local restaurant since they make excellent curries, and I don't have to do it.

Making other cultures food gives me an appreciation for the people who make this stuff everyday, or if not everyday however often they make it.

I mean, when i want to make stuff i just try a bunch of recipes until i find one i like. I might tweak it a little bit here and there, but usually i'm pretty satisfied.

And you should really try to make from home every day. I mean, i wasn't kidding when i say preservatives are cutting our lifespans.

The problem I find with Indian and Thai curries is that they're made for a white market, so they're not spicy or salty enough, and they have too much coconut milk/cream or yogurt
The only food I don't think I could make better at home is Vietnamese, American Chinese, and Japanese stuff, but that's for two reasons
It requires a very specialized pantry, and I gotta be able to go out for dinner and not get disappointed

>And you should really try to make from home every day.
I have made stuff at home every day for years. now with arthritis in my back any lengthy process of cooking is an endurance of pain. I made Enchiladas today. I was trying to replicate my favorite restaurants chili sauce. IT took me 3 days of prep work, and 2 hours of excruciating pain today to make 22 enchiladas.

I just can't do it anymore. I don't eat hardly any store bought prepackaged food. So I do go to a lot of restaurants.

the places I go are not made for white people. I have never had to salt any curry ever (and I like salt). as for spiciness most of it is as spicy as I like 3 at most places it perfect some places I have to ask for 4 or 5.

Not mocking you for your back, bet that sucks, but that's like blaming the gym for your broken legs. Don't push it that far dude.

I cook eggs and potatoes for breakfast

yeah it seems you do not understand anything I have said. I cook stuff all the time. but any lengthy amount of work is horribly painful.

and now after OP says that everything homemade is better, your saying to lower my standards, when I haven't even shared them.

as usual another pointless discussion on 4chan.
