Seriously. Don't buy non-stick, that shit is toxic and completely unnecessary if you learn how to cook properly. And if you do buy it, accept that it is short lived and disposable.

I can cook an egg in stainless or cast iron without a bit of sticking. Just make sure your pan is hot before adding the egg, use plenty of fat, and control the heat so it doesn't get too hot.

As far as I understand, teflon is non-reactive and just passes through your gut and only gets toxic if you heat it up to retarded temps. So little bits you scrape into the food shoudn't be an issue.

Teflon is inert. It's the adhesive and whatever other accelerant they use for it at the factory that gives pause

Hay you guys,
you know that the US government wouldn't allow companies to sell products that were harmful to you, right?
that's why stuff like menthol cigarettes, alcohol, and marijuana is illegal. and opiates. and motorcycle helmets, in some states, because allah forbid that someone should wear personal protective gear when they get into a motorcycle accident, because that infringes upon their god given right to commit suicide

What exactly are you cooking on your stove that requires 500 degrees or higher? Frying fish and pork is like 350 degrees. Any food that requires 500 degrees is shit you put in your oven, and you're not gonna use a nonstick to cook in your oven regardless.

Incorrect, the US will allow companies to sell you harmful products if they are lobbied hard enough to do so, or if they are lied to hard enough. And occasionally the gov't just fucking goofs and lets stupid shit through because it's staffed by retards or malicious actors.
>leaded gasoline
>asbestos
>whatever shitty product that got recalled for X reason
>various pharmaceuticals with nasty side effects
>Flint's water crisis

The gov't does "try" to protect, but it is ALWAYS after the fact, meaning there needs to be a pile of dead bodies from something for the gov't to ban it. They don't do preventative bans. It's all postmortem bans because people got killed or got sick.
