Anyone got any hints for making a banging chilli con carne? Planning on making one to take to my family this Christmas.

buy a variety of dried chilis, dont just use chili powder.
grind your own cumin.
do not put dry semen in the chili con carne. do not put any semen in the chili con carne.
cut your meat into chunks, dont use hamburger
use a fatty tough cut like chuck roast

>half dozen dried chile guajillo
>two dozen dried chile arbol
>half dozen dried chile chipotle
>half dozen fresh habanero
>fresh ground cumin to taste
>garlic to taste
>oregano to taste
>1 chopped red bell pepper
>2 chopped onion
>salt to taste

Boil dried chili peppers until tender. Add chilli peppers to blend or grinde with mortar and pestle, add water used to boil peppers as needed. Save.

Add fats to pot and saute garlic and onions until fragrant. Add beef and cook until browned. Add chopped bell pepper, habanero, and dried pepper mix. Top with water and bring to boil. Simmer until meat is tender. Top up with water or beef broth as needed / desired. Season. Serve.

Just use a stupid amount of gultemate cheats. Tomato paste, minced mushrooms, caramelized onions, worcestershire sauce/anchovies/fish sauce, liquid aminos, MSG. Then weird bitters like dark chocolate, coffee, and smokey whiskey or tequila. Meat hacks like frying your aromatics in bacon fat in the beginning, and never saying no to more garlic.
Having serving things on the side like green onions, cheese, sour cream, oyster crackers, and the like.

Obviously it's cheating for a crowd, but it works.
