Mozilla just published an article about cars harvesting tons of data from you with little oversight. They can see where you drove, if you drove to the bar then to Walgreen's then to an empty parking lot where sensors on your shocks can tell you're doing the horizontal tango, and they can see you drove to Walgreen's again and the credit card linked with your identifier spent 50$ at 8am the next day. Read the privacy policies, they explicitly say they collect data about your sexual activity.

There are patents for tracking systems that play undetectable tones on television commercials, which can store information in your browser tracking cookies and next time you see ads, you see something targeted to you.

Now, all this data can be cross correlated to target you in ways you never knew. You might get McDonalds commercials at 7pm since they know you sometimes go there and might need a little incentive. They can tell if a teenage girl is pregnant by her purchases before the parents do (true story, look it up). Analysis of your patterns can exploit your weak points and get you to buy things you might not otherwise have bought.
