What is the most obscure dish you ever ate? How was it? Obscure means what you think the least number of anons on here would've eaten. Has to be a somewhat established dish (e.g. not "fusion food" or some deep fried state fair abomination)
Hard mode: wasn't a course on a prix fixe menu

Cuachala

It's a regional Mexican dish from Jaliso, chicken is shredded and cooked in a sauce, it's near soupy. I ate it with tostadas but lots of pictures online have it with white rice, it's basically a curry. It isn't actually that spicy and I think the flavor profile is broadly pleasing.

NTA but emu and ostrich are just different. Being land based, they don't have large breasts like poultry domesticated from airborn birds. Ergo, no white meat. Their meat is basically all dark and since they're like 7 ft tall and run all the time, the meat is crazy lean and muscular. What you get from all that is a rich red meat that rivals any beef you can get in terms of flavor. Especially if you're used to ground 80/20 bullshit from the supermarket. Get you some ground ostrich or emu and change your life.

It's all mental. If he was blindfolded and wasn't told exactly what he was eating he probably would have had no problem, and taken a second and third bite. It doesn't really have any kind of weird flavor or texture; it just looks kind of gross.
