Whomever advised me in a previous thread long ago to get a DF83 grinder, thank you. I now make really good espresso at home that I am extremely pleased with. Turns out, the issue was the cheap grinder and not my lack of skill tamping

Only knock I have on the DF83 is it can be a bit messy. May be a flaw in my process but have to clean up after it often. Don't put it near the end of the counter like I have in the picture or you'll be sweeping your floors regularly

Replying to myself for spreading some knowledge.
So apparently the big no no behind don't wash your burrs with soap and water is the rust phobia. You heard right. As long as you're able to dry the burrs completely they will not rust.
Home coffee market is especially targeted towards midwits, and the simplification of the matter was deemed safer. Thus don't wash your burrs anon, unless you're not totally retarded and are able to properly dry two metal pieces.
If any cunt asks you why, now you can at least pretend you're not a sheep.

The standard stainless steel ones, I wasn't sure if my pisspoor espresso was a result of technique or the grinder so I didn't want to invest too much up front. Going to mess around with these and then upgrade to the DLC espresso ones after I abuse it more.

burrs are kind of a buy it for life kind of thing.
a home user going through a kilo a week could use the same burrs for decades (with proper care and maintenance of course)
so the high price makes sense.

I've heard the dlc64 aren't that far off from the SSP64hu. Not sure if that holds true for 83. HUs are going to still be full bodied espresso focused burrs like your stock italmills, I'm guessing they're just going to be a bit "cleaner" without losing too much body/texture. Tighter distribution and a bit less trailing fines. Don't know, haven't had any 83mm burr. I really like my Lab Sweet 80s, so I'll shill you the 83mm clones all day long.
>SSP 83mm HU. The ‘Original’ 83mm SSP burr. Before the DF83 came out this size didn’t get much attention from HanSung. Compared to 64HU, 83 HU shifts more towards flavor separation, while still retaining the body.

Yeah, its an inline needle valve that screws onto his new $550 modular portafilter. Extreme memery that probably tastes great.
>Being that the entire 58.8mm bore is utilized, the centerlock has a slight funnel geometry to ensure the liquid flowing out actually makes it into your espresso cup. A spouted centerlock is available with a 1/4" NPT thread so you can attach various accessories like a shot splitter, sensors, OPV, needle valve, etc. I have been playing with very coarsely ground coffee under high pressure at low flow rates - a pressurized immersion with flow control. With the moka you can taste true Italian coffee, if you pick Italian style blends (dark roast at least 80/20 arabica:robusta) then you’re in for a wild ride if you like it.

It costs as much as an Aeropress, it’s stupid not to try it.

So most people probably know what a cortado is. Originated in spain been around for at least a hundred years. Basically like a light Latte that is half espresso half milk. Well in San Francisco some fucking coffee company decided to "invent" a new drink. They took this exact same fucking drink, put it in a special glass and now call it "Gibraltar". consider grinding a little coarser if you are able to, the idea with moka pot is most other variables are fixed. dose is the same, contact time is as long as you can make it by having the flame a low as you can to make coffee flow out as slow as possible, and temperature is whatever it ends up benig, which will be consistent as long as you keep the technique consistent
