I was intuitively a decent "home" cook growing up, but the first time I started really trying to learn how to cook was so influenced by Chef John and yes Jamie Oliver (no bulli).

Made my world for a year or so because I finally saw that cooking has magic moments that aren't just intuitive, and I made that sauce, I never knew how to make before, all the time. I still watch Chef John and learn shit from him all the time, but I'll never forget that first video that won me over.

Also he talks like a teacher in the old vids and without the inFLEXion. Don't care, still love him.
