I experienced a lesser version of your miracle a while back. Snacking is solid, can't go wrong there. The obvious thing to do is to make recipes that call for lots of cheese that you wouldn't normally be able to afford making.

This is the other option. I don't see why a hard cheese would be significantly impacted by this, especially if the alternative is to watch it go bad. Although a hard cheese should last in the fridge for quite a while, with any mold being scraped off if it comes to that.
